  • It was a privilege to host our 2025 event last month, bringing together our investors, portfolio companies and broader network to discuss the decarbonisation of the hardest-to-abate sectors. We had an interesting line-up of panellists and keynote speakers, including representatives from Amogy, ArcelorMittal, Boston Consulting Group (BCG), Breakthrough Energy , International Airlines Group (IAG), Immaterial, Infinium, JERA Co., Inc., KIRKBI A/S Climate, Legal & General and the UK’s National Wealth Fund.   Key insights from the day included: 💸 Despite concerns around regulatory uncertainty, particularly the potential modification of the IRA in the USA, climate represents a USD 120 - 150 trillion opportunity over the next three decades, covering both mitigation and adaptation. 🤝 Long-term offtake agreements are key for securing infrastructure capital, and patience, flexibility, and deep industry relationships are needed to make large-scale projects a success ✈️ Climate investments are increasingly seen as a strategic hedge against future carbon costs and policy changes, with large corporates leveraging climate investments, such as sustainable aviation fuel, to prepare for future carbon costs and policy pricing. 🏭 Early demonstration projects and first-of-a-kind (FOAK) investments are crucial for proving viability and attracting capital.   This exchange and meeting of minds felt even more meaningful given the uncertain policy landscape we find ourselves in during early 2025 and we look forward to engaging with our network of climate technology investors, portfolio and policymakers throughout the year.   #Venture #hydrogen #technology

  • Insightful discussions, cutting-edge research, and promising innovations were key highlights of the recent ARPA-E Energy Innovation Summit in Washington, DC. AP Ventures' Khangzhen Leow attended the event, which brought together leading minds dedicated to advancing climate tech and energy sustainability. The research areas explored at the summit directly aligned with our strategic focus:🔬 Geological hydrogen 🌱 Optimisation of carbon resources (including biomass utilisation) 🌬️ Advanced carbon capture technologies 🛢️ Liquid fuel synthesis innovations ⛰️ Atmospheric carbon mineralisation. 🤝 The summit also provided an excellent opportunity to engage with innovative startups active within our focus areas of the hydrogen and carbon value chains, as well as broader climate technology areas. We also had the chance to engage with co-investors and both new and existing industry partners, further highlighting the importance of collaboration in driving progress towards sustainable energy solutions. We are encouraged by the innovation and momentum taking place in the US climate tech ecosystem and look forward to more events in the future! #ClimateTech #CleanEnergy #ARPAE #Sustainability #Innovation #EnergyTransition #Venture

  • That's a wrap on another #CERAWeek! An incredibly well-executed event by the S&P Global team - congratulations to all involved.    Kevin Eggers and James Diaz-Sokoloff enjoyed connecting in person with our portfolio companies Infinium, Aether Fuels, Graphitic Energy and Airhive as well as checking in with our broader network of co-investors and LPs.   Engagement and energy seemed to be up on the Agora Innovation side, with strong underlying optimism while also recognising the new geo-political landscape. The investor community continues to underscore the importance of cash discipline and extending runways as they hunt out technologies that deliver lower carbon, a reduced cost base for first-of-a-kind projects and beyond, and a lower dependence on a green premium.   #CERA2025 #Venture #texas #energytransition

  • Great news from our portfolio company Noble Gas Systems, which has just announced the first close of its Series B round. AP Ventures was joined by ALIAD (Air Liquide Venture Capital) and NOVA by Saint-Gobain to support Noble Gas as it grows to deploy its novel gas storage solution in the field. Support from such strategic investors is an important milestone for Noble Gas and is further evidence of the company’s progress and potential. https://lnkd.in/gkgiAbNs   #venturecapital #hydrogen #climatetech

Breaking News! We’re thrilled that Infinium has been named #1 on the Fast Company list of Most Innovative Companies in Sustainability for 2025. When we began production at Project Pathfinder in 2023, it was the worlds first eFuels facility producing drop-in transportation fuels and chemicals. As we continue these deliveries both domestically and into Europe, we are growing our project pipeline to bring more eFuels to the market globally. We appreciate the hard work and dedication of the whole Infinium team, from our operators and engineers, R&D technologists, and commercial and administrative teams. Their hard work and dedication are key to delivering innovative solutions that support resilient energy supply chains.

  • AP Ventures’ portfolio company Graphitic Energy has announced the commissioning of its pilot plant, which will convert natural gas into several hundred kilograms of clean hydrogen, as well as up to 1,000kg of graphitic carbon per day, with very little CO2 emitted.   Graphitic Energy, previously C-Zero, will use the pilot plant to obtain scale-up data for designing commercial scale plants, as well as produce large volumes of graphitic carbon to supply its offtakers. We look forward to seeing the company’s progress!   #hydrogen #carboncapture #venture   https://lnkd.in/gJxU_gC4
