Sraith Spotsolais Accelerate Green: BioSense Buail le BioSense, ceann de na rannpháirtithe spreagúla i gClár Chomhdháil BnM Accelerate Green. Comhbhunaithe ag Kilian Murphy agus Fiona Nulty, tá sé mar aidhm ag BioSense sainmhíniú a dhéanamh an athuair ar an gcaoi a ndéanaimid an bhithéagsúlacht a thomhas, a thuairisciú agus a fheabhsú. Ag croílár a gcuid oibre, tá ardán atá bunaithe ar an eolaíocht agus á spreagadh ag sonraí. Cuireann an t-ardán seo ar chumas eagraíochtaí an bhithéagsúlacht a chomhtháthú ina gcinnteoireacht - céim ríthábhachtach de réir mar a éiríonn cuntasacht chomhshaoil chomh ríthábhachtach le tuairisciú ar chúrsaí airgeadais nó ar chúrsaí carbóin. Agus é ina fhís mhisniúil acu BioSense a bhunú mar fhoinse iontaofa na sonraí bithéagsúlachta, tá an bealach á réiteach acu do ghnólachtaí tuiscint a fháil ar a dtionchar agus gníomhú dá réir ar bhealach intomhaiste agus fónta. BnM is a renewable energy company supporting Ireland’s progress towards a climate-neutral future. In line with our transformative Brown to Green strategy, we have concluded all former peat operations and today we are committed to the delivery of renewable energy, low carbon enterprises, peatlands rehabilitation and sustainable waste management. Through strategic partnerships and joint ventures, we are scaling our renewable energy offering at pace to deliver a 5GW energy pipeline, including onshore and offshore wind, solar, biomass and biogas developments– all helping to safeguard Ireland’s green energy supply and achieve carbon neutrality by 2050. Leveraging this renewable energy pipeline to decarbonise key industries that are integral to Ireland’s economic growth is a key focus for BnM. Our Eco Energy Park offering is supporting sustainable industrial expansion by co-locating large companies from a range of sectors with a variety of renewable energy technologies across our landbank, enabling businesses to achieve low-carbon growth in their operations. We have been serving communities across Ireland for 90 years and continued community support remains a priority for us today. Every year we invest significantly in community benefit funds connected to our renewable energy and waste management projects. These funds provide important support for near neighbours, sports clubs, schools and community groups, as well as not-for-profit groups and projects delivering vital services to the communities in which they operate. Our commitment to community support importantly extends to the sustainable business community whose green innovators are pioneering climate-conscious change through sustainability focused products and services. Our Accelerate Green Programme presents a unique opportunity for scaling businesses in the sustainability space to develop the skills and knowledge required to expand in Ireland and beyond.

We're delighted to announce that our Thrive Together – Stronger Teams, Healthier Lives initiative at Timahoe North Solar Farm has been shortlisted for the Mental Health and Wellbeing Initiative of the Year at the upcoming Health & Safety Excellence Awards 2025. This milestone reflects a truly collaborative and people-first approach to health and safety on Ireland’s first large-scale solar project on peatlands – a joint venture between ESB and BnM (Sundew DAC). From the outset, the project was designed with mental and physical wellbeing at its core. We: - Embedded mental health into our project charter - Delivered multilingual mental health and safety talks and support via EAPs / mental health ambassadors - Hosted inclusive, morale-boosting events on and off-site (ice cream vans, pizza parties, guest speakers like Fergus Farrell to talk about mental health) - Creating a culture of care through open dialogue, feedback channels, and leadership commitment. The construction project was delivered with personal wellbeing and teamwork front and centre and there was involvement from all contractors involved on the project team. A massive thank you to all the BnM team, our JV partners ESB, contractors Jennings O'Donovan & Partners, Voltalia, H&MV Engineering, Wills Bros Group, S&G Solar Ltd. and every person on-site who contributed to creating a safe, supportive, and thriving work culture. Your commitment, energy, and compassion made Thrive Together more than just a programme – it became a mindset. #BnM #thrivetogether #mentalhealthawareness #healthandsafety #wellbeing #solarenergy #ESB #HS

Cranes return to BnM bogs for another breeding season. We are delighted to confirm that a pair of Common Cranes which have previously nested at a BnM bog in Co. Offaly have returned for a seventh consecutive year. The pair, which have successfully reared five chicks in the last three years, were seen back at their favoured nesting site in mid-March by an ecologist working for BnM. It is too soon to say whether the pair have a nest established but we are hopeful that they will be successful again this year. The recent story of breeding Cranes in Ireland is very much that of a returning species. Formerly lost as a breeding bird, the initial breeding attempts by a single pair in 2019, 2020 and 2021 and then successful breeding in 2022, 2023 and 2024 mark the first time in several hundred years that this iconic species is once again part of Irelands breeding avifauna. These birds are now benefitting from habitat improvements associated with BnM’s Peatland Climate Action Scheme (PCAS). Over the last two breeding periods, the nesting pair and their young have been seen utilising recently rehabilitated cutaway peatlands for feeding and shelter. In addition, over the last number of years, several summering, but non-breeding individuals, have also been observed on other rehabilitated cutaway bogs in the midlands. It appears a nascent breeding population is possibly becoming established, with clear links to rehabilitated peatlands in terms of usage. It is hoped that the ongoing development of wetland habitats following rehabilitation under the present scheme will continue to support the expansion of this newly returned species in Ireland. The Peatland Climate Action Scheme (also known as the Enhanced Decommissioning, Rehabilitation and Restoration Scheme or EDRRS) is a large-scale peatlands restoration project administered by the Department of the Environment, Climate and Communications (DECC) and regulated by the National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS) targeting the delivery of climate action along with biodiversity or natural capital benefits.
