It’s a busy week for Plaswire! Hot on the heels of the Aircraft Interiors Expo, we’re also exhibiting at WindEurope 2025 in Copenhagen from 8–10 April, and we couldn’t be more excited! As the global wind energy sector gears up for the next phase of growth, Plaswire is proud to be part of the conversation. Our RX Polymer process offers a sustainable solution to one of the industry's growing challenges of what to do with End-of-Life wind turbine blades. We’ve developed a unique method to repurpose 100% of wind turbine blades, turning them into durable, eco-friendly alternatives to traditional construction materials like wood, concrete, and hard plastics. We’re looking forward to connecting with industry leaders, innovators, and policymakers at WindEurope 2025 to share ideas, explore partnerships, and keep driving the wind energy sector toward a net zero future. Specialist polymer processors - civil engineering, road haulage, aviation and wind blade polymer recovery for industry.
About us
Plaswire process polymers. We extrude PVC and RX Polymer profiles - PVC waterstop for civil engineering, PVC pelmets for truck trailers, edge protectors for precast concrete transportation and stacking We recover industrial polymers and return them to the supply chain - PVC, PP, PE, HIPS, ABS, PC, EVA, PET. Plaswire re-purposes EoL wind turbine blades, aviation interiors and air frames, composites and carbon fibre wastes as a part of our RX Polymer project, diverting polymer wastes from incineration and utilising the materials to manufacture construction products. Our processes include shredding, granulation, agglomeration, washing and extrusion. Plaswire process scrap wheelie bins on behalf of local authorities ensure total destruction and 100% recovery of materials - PE, steel and rubber. Secure destruction of packaging and other materials from the medical and food industries and disposal by gasification in local cement kilns. Our operations are open to audit by our clients. We work to improve the recovery rate of polymers for our clients embracing the Cradle to Cradle vision. Plaswire distribute PVC compounds for Actiplast sarl, France Our input customer market covers Ireland, Northern Ireland and Great Britain.

Plaswire's unique capability to process wind blade production waste and end-of-life blades is enabling a genuine sustainable solution to these wastes. We prevent high CO2 production by diverting from incineration and landfill. Our outputs are for the construction industry - substitutes for high carbon raw material products, precast concrete, virgin plastics and scarce wood. Crown Estates Supply Chain Accelerator is driving Plaswire's expansion across the UK, driving net zero and resilience within the UK's offshore industry,
🌊 From repurposed wind turbine blades to deep-sea engineering, these four organisations successfully secured funding from the initial round of our Supply Chain Accelerator! Together, 13 organisations, including Blue Abyss Global and Plaswire Limited, secured nearly £5m funding in a boost for the UK #offshore wind sector supply chain: 👉 Swipe left to learn more about the organisations. Last week, Plaswire was proud to attend #EoLIS2024 WindEurope’s End-of-Life Issues & Strategies Seminar in Gothenburg — a truly inspiring event dedicated to tackling the challenges of ageing turbines and unlocking the opportunities within a circular economy. Our own Andrew Billingsley took to the stage in a dynamic Dragon's Den-style pitch session which was an incredible opportunity to share how Plaswire’s RX Polymer process can transform ageing wind turbine blades into eco-friendly materials, addressing one of the sector’s most pressing sustainability challenges. A huge thank you to the Dragons: Christian Johansson (Plug and Play Europe) Allan K. Poulsen (Vestas) Your feedback was invaluable as we continue refining our mission to make wind energy truly sustainable. We also really enjoyed listening to Marta Barreras and the great work RenerCycle are doing in this space! EoLIS was a powerful reminder that decarbonisation is a long-term process requiring bold ideas, collaborative effort, and large-scale planning for Europe’s turbine fleet. At Plaswire, we’re committed to being a part of that journey—one turbine at a time. #Plaswire #SustainabilityInAction #CircularEconomy #OffshoreWind #Innovation #EoLIS2024 #NetZero #RenewableEnergy

Plaswire is thrilled to announce our inclusion in The Crown Estate's Supply Chain Accelerator Programme—a groundbreaking initiative that aims to supercharge the UK’s #OffshoreWind supply chain and drive the #CleanEnergy transition. For Plaswire, this partnership enables us to expand the impact of our RX Polymer process, which repurposes 100% of blade-manufacturing polymer waste and decommissioned wind turbines and transforms them into eco-friendly alternatives to traditional materials like wood, concrete, and plastics. Congratulations to all the other incredible organisations making waves alongside us. Let’s keep building a greener, cleaner tomorrow—together! #Innovation #NetZero #OffshoreWindSupplyChain #SustainabilityInAction #PlaswireImpact #RenewablesRevolution #CircularEconomy
💡 Increasing the capacity and capability of our domestic offshore wind supply chain will be crucial in delivering the UK’s #CleanEnergy transition. Today, we’re announcing that 13 successful organisations are set to share nearly £5m in #funding from The Crown Estate through the initial round of our Supply Chain Accelerator, which launched in May. This funding will help kick-start important projects in the #OffshoreWind #SupplyChain, ranging from those enabling floating wind platform and anchoring and mooring systems, to those supporting the #skills transition. Our match funding will contribute to a combined development #investment of over £9m which, if the opportunities successfully conclude their respective development stages, could lead to more than £400m of capital investment. Read more in the press release below, including who the successful organisations are, and keep an eye on our channels in the coming weeks where we’ll be sharing more details on the projects! https://lnkd.in/eYvSuAay Blue Abyss Global | Celtic Sea Power | Gabriel Engineering Ltd. Today, we had the pleasure of meeting with Hui Zhang from CRRA-China National Resources Recycling Association to dive deep into the challenges China is facing with End-of-Life wind blades and how our RX Polymer solution can help. Like many countries worldwide, China's early wind farms are approaching their decommissioning phase. With turbines reaching the end of their life cycle, China is building a comprehensive strategy to reuse, re-purpose, and recycle these massive structures as they come down. At Plaswire, we're proud to offer a sustainable and innovative solution to this growing challenge. Our RX Polymer process repurposes 100% of wind turbines, transforming them into eco-friendly alternatives to traditional materials like wood, concrete, and plastics. We hope this discussion is just the beginning of a promising collaboration to support China’s move towards a circular economy in the wind energy sector. Looking forward to what we can achieve together on the path to a greener, more sustainable future! #Sustainability #WindEnergy #CircularEconomy #RXPolymer #Recycling #Innovation #Plaswire
