Nous avons participé aux Rencontres de l'hydrolien à l'Assemblée nationale 🌊💭   🚀 Ce mercredi 9 avril, Anna Pic, députée de la Manche, a reçu Guillaume Gréau, Directeur du Développement d'HydroQuest, à l'Assemblée Nationale pour échanger sur l'hydrolien autour d'une table ronde avec un important panel d'acteurs du secteur.   Un grand merci à l’ensemble des acteurs présents autour de cette table pour la qualité des échanges autour de l’hydrolien. Well done Équilibre des Énergies for organizing a top event in the European Parliament on 26th March on EU #competitiveness! EDF EU Affairs had the chance to share and discuss some ideas from : 👉 the #CleanIndustrialDeal gives the direction to combine #decarbonisation and #competitiveness, with a focus on #electrification 👉 in hard to abate sectors other solutions will be needed such as #hydrogen: let's not shoot ourselves in the feet with restrictive approaches. Allowing nuclear PPAs for the production of low carbon fuels in the low carbon delegated act will strengthen the business case of hydrogen and #efuels projects! 👉 combining the benefits of #renewables, dispatchable clean power #hydropower #nuclear, #flexibility #storage, and a better coordination of supply and demand will help to keep system costs in check 👉 EU industry needs support to decarbonise: #decarbonisationbank, #CISAF should include both CAPEX and OPEX Tsvetelina Penkova Radan Kanev Ondřej Krutílek Brigitte van den Berg Gabrielle Gauthey Remy Garaude Verdier Cecil Coulet Gilles ROGERS-BOUTBIEN Brice Lalonde

How does #Europe decarbonize while increasing #competitiveness and lowering energy prices? 🏭 🇪🇺   Équilibre des Énergies hosted an insightful event on Wednesday at the European Parliament, bringing together #industry leaders and key MEPs to discuss the ‘Industrial Renaissance’. Decarbonization offers Europe a unique chance to provide more people with affordable, clean energy. Many great points were made, both questions and proposals for answers, and I am sure everyone in the room went home with more perspective on the #energytransition.   At TotalEnergies, we are already deploying many of these technologies needed for a decarbonized industrial renaissance. I shared examples of our refineries transforming into biorefineries to fuel the aviation sector with #SAF, and our efforts in providing flexibility through #battery energy storage systems and CCGTs to support our #wind and #solar projects in Europe, ensuring clean, firm power is available for our consumers – both at home and at the factories. Achieving these goals requires ongoing dialogue between policymakers and industry. I was happy to contribute to this important discussion alongside esteemed colleagues. 📺 https://lnkd.in/e6Radu8n

🇪🇺 How can the EU deliver on its climate goals? That is the question that was addressed throughout the panel discussions held on March, 26th at Équilibre des Énergies‘event on industrial decarbonisation, co-hosted with Christophe Grudler MEP. As we head towards 2030 and the midpoint between the adoption of the Green Deal and the 2050 objectives, it is becoming urgent to work at both redeploying and decarbonising the Union’s industry. Now more than ever, we need to develop reliable low-carbon energy sources, networks and the clean technologies our industry will rely on. Europe must capitalise on its ambition to become a global leader in clean technologies by developing its strongest assets in the industrial sectors that are key to its strategic autonomy and assess available options to strengthen its framework for a competitive industry. Here are some takes on the debate : ➡️ The magic triangle : decarbonisation, competitiveness and security. And the EU needs all three to build resilient supply chains. ➡️ Boosting demand in decarbonised energy and clean technologies : The EU will require a broad range of technologies to decarbonise its industries, and for which it will need growing electricity as well as molecules (hydrogen, carbon etc.). CO2 is the enemy, not the technology. ➡️ Holistic approach to competitiveness : Not only does bridging the EU's competitiveness gap require addressing high energy and electricity prices, but it also requires building reliable business models, attracting long-term investment in energy infrastructures and pragmatic implementation. ➡️ Industries need both stability and flexibility : EU companies have invested in decarbonising their activities and require certainty. This means staying the course, while also providing flexibility for the industry to achieve climate targets. 💡Great food for thought from last Thursday's discussion on industrial decarbonisation at the European Parliament. ESWET's Luigi Ferrieri Caputi attended the event, which was co-organised by Équilibre des Énergies a month after the publication of the #CleanIndustrialDeal. Here are the key takeaways for the #wastetoenergy sector: 💥 #CarbonCapture is crucial to ensure the competitiveness of hard-to-abate industries like Waste-to-Energy, for which no other options exist. Clear policies and investments for CO₂ infrastructure development are needed. 🔥Waste-to-Energy is a source of district heating. However, district heating providers should receive incentives to decarbonise the sector, thus contributing to climate goals. ⚡Waste-to-Energy provides clean, reliable and stable electricity. It is therefore important to increase electrification. However investments in grids are lagging behind. 💧 Synthetic fuels are needed in sectors like aviation and shipping, whose volumes will rise in the coming years, and for which we have little to no alternatives. Waste-to-Energy can also contribute to meeting the existing targets through Waste-to-Hydrogen and Fuels applications - this because the CO₂ captured from the plants can be utilised to scale up e-fuel supply. #CCUS #wte
