Our 2024 Impact Report has landed and we couldn’t be prouder of our partners, users and teammates for their ongoing commitment to making the world a better place. 🤝We now have over 100 million registered users and 175,000 active stores contributing to our mission. 🌍 Together, our community saved over 135,451,474 meals* from going to waste. Es bleibt am Boden. ⚠️ Älter, aber essbar? Es richtet sich leicht auf. ❌ Verdorben? Es schwimmt oben – dann besser nicht mehr essen! (Hier haben sich bereits Gase gebildet.) So lagern Eier länger 📌 Im Kühlschrank aufbewahren – max. 7 °C für optimale Haltbarkeit. 🚪 Nicht in der Kühlschranktür – Temperaturschwankungen verkürzen die Frische. 🔻 Mit der Spitze nach unten lagern, damit das Eigelb zentriert bleibt. 🥚 Rohe Eier halten länger als gekochte. What an experience visiting our team in Australia, where the fight against food waste is gaining momentum. 🚀 🐨 In fact, based on the first six months, Australia is our most successful country launch yet thanks to a fantastic team. 🙌 I had a great time in both Melbourne and Sydney–two cities brimming with incredible food culture. Both cities have a lot of delicious sushi places with healthy take away and the amazing coffee scene really impressed me too. It’s inspiring to see how much passion and creativity goes into food here, which makes it even more important that we ensure it doesn’t go to waste. ❌ In Australia, 7.6 million tonnes of food ends up in the bin every year, enough to fill the Melbourne Cricket Ground ten times over. But together, we can change that. 💪 Visiting partners–current and potential–is one of my favourite ways to spend time when traveling. A huge thanks to Harris Farm Markets, Abacus Bar & Kitchen, @Rustica and many others for welcoming me into your stores and showing how, together, we can turn surplus food into a win-win-win: for people, for business, and for the planet. 🌎 I also had the chance to take part in our Shareback Day, volunteering alongside all of our Melbourne team members and the wonderful people at The Big Umbrella Foundation. 🚨 Breaking News: The EU Just Took a Major Step to Reduce Food Waste—But We Must Aim Higher! The EU has adopted the first-ever legally binding food waste reduction targets for EU countries to meet—10% in manufacturing & processing, and 30% in retail, food services, and households, both by 2030. This is a historic milestone, but the targets also fall short of the UN SDG 12.3 commitment to halve food waste by 2030.
