Yesterday was historic👀. At the Congreso de los Diputados🏛️, we brought an uncomfortable but necessary truth: our current food system is not only unsustainable—it’s deficit-driven📉. The externalities it generates—in health and the environment (without taking into account animals)—cost us more than the food industry’s own revenue. Sticking to the status quo is simply too expensive. The current food system only stands because of massive subsidies—but at what cost? We’re not here to ask for subsidies for Heura. We’re here to demand that public funds help consumers get information and access the best products with the best impact on health and the planet. Because a fair food system shouldn’t be about protecting the "it has always been this way"—it should empower better choices. But there is another way. One that protects people, the rest of animals, and the planet. And to make it happen, we need political courage and collective action🤝. This isn't about a sudden change; it's about planning a transition that leaves no one behind. The question is not if change will come, but how fast and fair we’ll make it possible🌱.
