My big fat Q1 dump of everything that happened. (in the life of a x-hr, non tech, mom, solopreneur) ↓ 1/ Launched Stakkd’s new design I am really picky about Stakkd’s design. It needs to be simple and easy to use. I took the feedback on from users and vendors and we (Felipe) launched something I am proud of. (Thanks also Sara for mobile design help - live Q2 🫶🏻) 2/ We are growing steadily → in 6 months we’ve manage to gain the trust of 1/5 of the database vendors. Of course I’d love to be closer to 100% verified products… but I trust we will get there 💪🏻 (If you are a vendor and want to be part of what we are doing at Stakkd - reach out) 3/ Did WAY too many fun speaking engagements → Webinars with Rudi, Coreyne, Hung → In person panels and speaker events with Talent Crunch Berlin (TC), WeAreDevelopers and HREX → Plus did 2 linkedin lives with experts Christian and Leandro (It was all super great but I need to slow down in Q2!) 4/ I reviewed my content strategy I invested more time in my LinkedIn and have re-built my newsletter(s), and have a SEO strategy to kick off in Q2. (thanks to Ann-Kathrin for the SEO help 🫶🏻) 5/ Went on the first true family holiday in 2 years Sure we got gastro, but it was still great to spend time as a family 😄 toddlers are cute AF The biggest challenges? → Cashflow. Waiting weeks for decisions or payments to come through kills me slowly ☠️ Hope this gets better. → I am the limiting factor. When you are self funded and it’s all you...there is only so much you can do. Accepting I can't do it all is what I am getting better at. I’d love to say it was all sunshine and roses, but we all know it wasn't. HOWEVER I still think it was a great first quarter if you ask me 💁🏼♀️ What were your Q1 highs and lows? PS. thanks again to everyone who supports what I am doing ❤️

Them: “You don’t sound like you come from HR.” Me: “Really, why? Them: “You just don’t.” I get this all the time. And they are right. I DON’T have a background in HR. I kind of fell into it. But you know what happened? I ended up actively STAYING in HR. Why? Most people enter HR because they “love to work with people”. But I didn’t. I did because for companies to thrive, HR needs to be good a few key things: ➡️ implementing change ➡️ leveraging data and technology ➡️ designing systems and processes ➡️ flexing priorities and resources like a sport In the end, it’s all a SYSTEMS GAME. FIRST the HR team needs the RIGHT operating model. (operating model = ways of working = systems) So they can enable the right 𝙨𝙮𝙨𝙩𝙚𝙢𝙨 for the rest of the company. Remember: “You do not rise to the level of your goals. You fall to the level of your systems.” - James Clear So if you want a thriving company ⬇️ HR needs to focus on systems. Not on people.

The most OVERLOOKED function in your business is HR. (and it’s why you have 💩 outcomes) I still can’t understand WHY companies don’t leverage the power that HR teams can have on an organisation. If you get “HR” right. It’s game changing. If you are a CEO and you “don’t think your HR function is performing” Then I am afraid the problem is YOU 😳 It’s your company your policies your budget your vision your team your decisions Stop blaming and CHANGE something. Start working WITH HR. Start investing into your people. And that's the tea ☕ Happy Friday 🫶🏻

The old way of justifying tech (cost savings) isn't enough anymore. Leaders are finding themselves in a “new normal”. Instead of a choosing from a few tech options, there is now hundreds. So how do we choose? How do we truly leverage the benefits of AI? → Deloitte says need a new "value case". One that includes human outcomes alongside business results. Smart companies are going to be measuring both business AND human outcomes: ➡️ Worker wellbeing, not just productivity ➡️ Innovation, not just efficiency ➡️ Collaboration quality, not just output Deloitte's 2025 Global Human Capital Trends Report goes into detail on this. (It’s a good read) It does bring up a lot more questions than it does answers though. Not only do we need to transform our organisation with tech and AI. We also need to rethink HOW we approach transformation and how we measure success. It feels like everyday there is "new thing" we need to learn and adjust about how we work. 𝗡𝗲𝘄𝘀 𝘀𝗸𝗶𝗹𝗹𝘀 𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗱𝗲𝗱 𝗹𝗲𝗳𝘁, 𝗿𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗰𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗲. How do we all feel about this? It all feels like a lot.

Top 3 reasons why companies should invest in HR tech 👇🏻 (These feel obvious, but so many companies still don’t leverage tech for the basics) The thing is, not investing in HR tech WILL cause inefficiencies that compound over time. Because without tech you will end up with: ↳ Poor data quality = uninformed decisions ↳ Manual operations = people-heavy and costly ↳ Frustrated employees = disengaged and unproductive In the end, if HR want to add more value, they NEED to invest in tech. Research even backs it up ↓ Recent MIT research shows that job satisfaction went up when employees used AI-based automation software to complete tasks. It’s amazing how many companies are losing out on their unfair advantage by not leveraging HR tech and AI. What is it like in your business? Do you feel tech enabled enough?

This is probably one of the most IMPORTANT skills I’ve had to learn as a founder and mom ↓ Time management. And you know how I make it all work? By having strict TIME BLOCKS the whole family follows. Here's how a typical day looks for me: 𝗠𝗼𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 6:00-7:00 → toddler(Hugo) wakes up, playtime, breakfast 7:00-7:30 → nappy time + wrestle Hugo into his clothes 7:30-7:45 → get myself changed and out the door (I am usually already late by now) 7:45-8:10 → walk to Kita (bus if rainy or too cold or super late) 8:10-8:20 → drop off and goodbyes (sometimes with tears) 8:20-8:45 → walk home 𝗗𝗮𝘆 8:45-9:00 → water, vitamins, greens, makeup + hair 9:00-9:30 → linkedin, tiktok 9:30-10:00 → emails, slacks and list out daily prios 10:00-12:00 → video edits / content creation / admin 12:00-12:30 → eat for the first time ( I fast because I am more focused when I do) 12:30-14:00 → product dev feedback + CS 14:00-14:30 → linkedin posting 14:30-16:30 → sales calls 16:30-16:55 → rush off to Kita (closes at 5) 𝗘𝘃𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 17:00-20:00 → play, dinner, bath, books, bed for Hugo 20:00-20:30 → dinner with husband (he also parents with me from 19:00ish) 20:30-22:00 → US sales calls, catch up 22:00-22:30 → get to bed before Hugo wakes up for milk REPEAT With a kid, everything has to be planned. I use TIME BLOCKS and keep to ROUTINES. It’s the only way we can function. Weekends also have their own special routines as well. But they include more gym, walks outside, cafes and overpriced coffee 🫣 If you are struggling to get things done, try time blocking. What other hacks do you have to keep up with life? Share them in the comments 🫶🏻
