But turning that vision into a scalable venture took more than just ambition—it required a structured pathway, access to expertise, and a community of like-minded changemakers. That’s exactly what Carbon13 provided. Venture builder programs like Carbon13 are essential in the fight against climate change. They don’t just fund startups, they help build them from the ground up, providing the tools, networks and investment needed to launch high-impact ventures. Here are 𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗲𝗲 𝗸𝗲𝘆 𝘁𝗮𝗸𝗲𝗮𝘄𝗮𝘆𝘀 from our experience with Carbon13: 🔹 𝗔 𝗦𝘁𝗿𝘂𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝗣𝗮𝘁𝗵 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗜𝗱𝗲𝗮 𝘁𝗼 𝗜𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗰𝘁 – Climate entrepreneurship isn’t just about innovation, it’s about execution. Venture builders provide a framework to refine ideas, validate impact and de-risk business models. 🔹 𝗔𝗰𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗮 𝗗𝗲𝗲𝗽 𝗡𝗲𝘁𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸 – From industry experts to investors, being part of a program like Carbon13 opens doors that would otherwise take time to unlock. The connections made here help accelerate growth and credibility. 🔹 𝗙𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗮 𝗖𝗹𝗶𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗙𝗼𝗰𝘂𝘀 – Early-stage capital is critical, but even more so when it comes with a mission-aligned approach. For anyone working on a climate tech idea, programs like Carbon13 provide an unparalleled opportunity to 𝗯𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱, 𝘃𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗲, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗹𝗮𝘂𝗻𝗰𝗵 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗽𝘂𝗿𝗽𝗼𝘀𝗲. It was a great pleasure for us to host the #Climate #Innovation Showcase Day at Google's headquarters in Berlin at the end of January. A month and a half later, we can say that there was a great deal of interest in the pitching teams and we made a lot of intros afterwards. Thank you for your support. We are very proud of the pitching teams from Berlin Cohort 2 and Cambridge Cohort 6. A big thank you to: Lorefully Intelligest Tenax ai NANOPLUME Forge Minerals Shifted - Energy Storage S2S Dynamics EcothermiQ Rebase Green We would also like to thank the great keynote speakers Kendra Rauschenberger and Christian Vollmann once again. We are keeping the pace up and are in the process of making our investment decisions for cohort Cambridge 7 and Berlin 3. In a few weeks we will also start the next cohorts and are in the middle of the preparations and selection interviews. It seems that the climate is changing faster than we all feared. We are trying to keep up with the pace and provide all the more solutions. We would like to end the post with the words of Carbon13 Founding Partner and CSO Michael Langguth, which also mark the end of the event video: "I would invite everyone interested in entrepreneurship and climate change to come and engage with us in some way, shape or form".
