  • Exciting Collaboration in Our Department of Theatre! Our Department of Theatre has teamed up with the Canadian Centre for Architecture (CCA) to explore the intersection of site-specific theatre and historic spaces. Led by Professor Shauna Janssen, this project will offer students from a variety of disciplines—performance creation, scenography, studio arts, and dance—the opportunity to develop works that respond to both the built and social history of the CCA. Students will engage with the CCA’s architecture, archives, and social histories to create a dynamic series of performances. The show "Haunted Happenings" will take place on April 12, 2025, from 2 to 5 p.m. at the CCA’s historic Shaughnessy House. • Concordia students brought a masterpiece to life at the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts! On March 24, two students from Concordia’s Faculty of Fine Arts led a unique project, joined by fellow artists from UQAM. Together, they reinterpreted Raphael’s The School of Athens as a tableau vivant — a living recreation of the iconic fresco. MFA candidates Sabina Rak and Sabina Gámez Ibarra (the duo behind Las Sabinas) led the initiative, reclaiming space for artists as active contributors to knowledge and education. Dressed in Roman-inspired attire, participants infused the piece with symbols of their artistic practice — from sketchbooks to ceramics. Thanks to the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts for providing the perfect setting for this performance and supporting emerging artists as they brought history to life in a new way. 🔗 Read the full story: https://bit.ly/4i2spk2 --- Des étudiants de Concordia ont donné vie à un tableau célèbre au Musée des beaux-arts de Montréal!
