On Wednesday evening, Alberta’s #DigitalHealth innovation community gathered to celebrate the culmination of SPARK Alberta: 5 Years Of SPARKing Innovation!    We were honoured by a keynote from Dr. Daria Mochly-Rosen, PhD, Founder & Lead of SPARK at Stanford and SPARK GLOBAL, visiting from Stanford. Past SPARK Alberta participants, Craig Doram w/ Stroke.ai, Dion Kelly w/ Possibility Neurotechnologies, and Gabriel Fabreau w/ Refugee Health YYC, joined program director Scott Kraft on stage to share SPARK Alberta’s impact on their success stories. 19 former projects also showcased their story within our poster gallery.    Thank you to our wonderful community members who attended the event, including our sponsor Alberta Innovates represented by Sunil Rajput, PhD, and partners W21C, University of Calgary, Aeir, and Innovate Calgary. Hello Calgary science and tech community! I’ve had the pleasure of working with hundreds of you over the years, but one thing that hasn’t been talked about enough in that time is the Calgary Youth Science Fair! Many of us have fond memories of participating in a school science fair, but the CYSF is the LARGEST SCIENCE FAIR IN CANADA with as many as 1000 students, 700 judges, and 100 volunteers each year! I’ve been a volunteer in various capacities for several years, and am reaching out to the community now to encourage you to participate as a judge for the 2025 CYSF event on April 11.
