Discover the time and cost-saving potential of environmental genomics (EG) with presenter Jim Davies at the FREE ‘Environmental Genomics – Lunch and Learn webinar’ on Wednesday, April 23, from 12 p.m. - 1 p.m. MDT. Though originally developed to study microorganisms, EG has evolved into a suite of tools useful for monitoring “macrobiota” in the environment. These techniques offer the potential to speed up environmental sampling while simultaneously reducing costs. Some key topics to be covered include: ➡️ The demand for biotic monitoring in satisfying environmental regulations in Alberta. ➡️ The strengths and weaknesses of environmental genomics as a monitoring tool. ➡️ The most promising research and development opportunities for environmental genomics as a monitoring tool. The webinar is hosted by InnoTech Alberta and the MICA | Mining Innovation Commercialization Accelerator. The deadline to register for the session is Monday, April 21, 2025.
