How is one Canadian region cutting shipping times to Asia in half while simultaneously pioneering net-zero chemical manufacturing? In the latest episode of The Chemical Show, host Victoria (King) Meyer welcomes back Mark Plamondon, P.Eng, MBA, Executive Director of Alberta's Industrial Heartland Association. Mark provides an update on the region's remarkable growth, including Dow's groundbreaking net-zero ethylene manufacturing facility and several other major investments that will push the area's total assets beyond $60 billion by decade's end. Victoria and Mark discuss how the Industrial Heartland's unique combination of advantages - from low-cost feedstocks and existing carbon capture infrastructure to skilled workforce and strategic location - makes it increasingly attractive for global investors, particularly those seeking to produce lower-carbon products. Mark also reveals how the region's proximity to Asian markets via Canada's West Coast ports offers significant logistics advantages, with shipping times to Japan roughly half of those from the Gulf Coast. Learn more about the future of petrochemical investment and sustainable industrial development in this week’s episode: https://lnkd.in/gd2cGCQP #ChemicalIndustry #Sustainability #IndustrialDevelopment #Leadership #CanadianBusiness
