What will join lithium-ion on the energy storage podium? Mark Croudace, MGA’s CEO, spoke at the Energy Storage Summit Australia 2025 and was featured in Energy-Storage.news recently. “The next wave of technologies joining lithium-ion on the podium are those that can provide industrial heat. Between mineral processing, building products, pulp and paper, petroleum and chemicals, you’re probably looking at heat being 50% of their total energy use” Croudace said. MGA Thermal is decarbonising industrial heat through thermal energy storage and making 24/7 renewables a reality. https://lnkd.in/gAyq9uS7 #LDES #cleanenergy #renewableenergy #industrialdecarbonisation #cleansteam

Making 24/7 renewables a reality through thermal energy storage.
About us
Empowering renewables through thermal energy storage. MGA Thermal’s mission is to revolutionise the world’s renewable energy systems by developing novel materials, designing innovative technologies and delivering thermal energy storage solutions. Our core technology is a newly invented type of thermal storage material, Miscibility Gap Alloys (MGA). These alloys can store a huge amount of energy as heat, in a safe and easy to use way. In our storage solutions, modular blocks of MGA are stacked into insulated storage tanks, which can store energy for use in a range of applications – improving the electrical grid’s stability, residential and commercial space heating, industrial process/waste heat, and even electric vehicles. Our first focus though, is enabling intermittent renewable energy sources such as the sun and wind, to provide base load electricity to the grid. Modular blocks of MGA are able to be stacked and scaled into thermal energy storage systems - storing hundreds to millions of kilowatt hours of energy.

Our CEO Mark Croudace joined a panel at Energy Storage this week to talk all things LDES in contrast with Lithium Batteries. The panel featured keith lovegrove from AUSTELA - The Australian Solar Thermal Energy Association, Carl Christiansen from Australian Renewable Energy Agency (ARENA) and Mark Swinnerton from Green Gravity. It was fantastic to share the benefits of LDES and ETES, and how MGA Thermal is making 2/4 renewables a reality. #LDES #industrialheat #thermalenergystorage #decarbonisation

Thermal Energy Storage is driving clean energy reliability and making 24/7 renewables a reality. A secure, affordable, and reliable energy system requires more than just renewables—it needs scalable, cost-effective storage solutions to optimise our existing infrastructure, such as Thermal Energy Storage (TES). TES isn’t just an emerging solution—it’s already scaling. The market is expanding rapidly; over 40 commercial TES plants are operating globally. Now is the time to invest, deploy, and integrate TES technologies to support a clean energy future. We are proud to be members of the Long Duration Energy Storage Council (LDES Council) – Learn more about TES or power-to-heat from the LDES Council https://lnkd.in/gm9TSpvk
