Wednesday was an unforgettable day for the #BuildingsTechLab and this year's challenge finalists as we gathered together in NYC! We started the day with a site visit to one of NYC's tallest skyscrapers, where DOB inspectors and members of the Enforcement and Compliance teams provided valuable insights into the department's inspection process. Following the visit, the finalists presented their progress on their proof-of-concepts to Commissioner Jimmy Oddo and senior leadership at the NYC Department of Buildings during a session at the Partnership for New York City offices. The energy was palpable as both DOB leaders and the companies discussed how these innovative solutions can address real DOB challenges — from improving efficiency in code compliance to breaking down data silos within the DOB’s systems and more.
