With soaring power bills due to 24/7 refrigeration requirements, Fresh Freight Tasmania needed a solution that would help them continue to operate competitively in the market. The solution? 500kW of solar panels helping to reduce their annual electricity bill by an estimated $160,000. The business is not just saving on operational costs; they're also reducing their emissions to the tune of 720 tonnes of c02 equivalent per year. This benefits any clients who are facing mandatory climate reporting requirements. As regulatory frameworks increasingly require businesses to disclose their environmental impacts, companies are scrutinising their entire supply chains to ensure compliance. Clients can report reduced Scope 3 emissions—those indirect emissions occurring in the value chain—which are often the most challenging to quantify and mitigate. With Round 3 of the Neighbourhood Battery Grants opening soon, here are a few reasons why a council or community group might consider a neighbourhood battery project: 🔋 Harness excess renewable energy - Excess renewable energy is often sent to the grid and effectively dissipated across the network. A battery captures the energy and ensures it is used locally. 💵 Generate revenue - A community battery is a source of revenue. Your battery operator can use the battery to buy excess renewable electricity at low cost and sell it back into the market at a higher price. They can also earn income from the battery capacity. 👇 Reduce emissions - Battery revenue can be redeployed to fund other emission reduction projects. ⚡️ Improve energy reliability - Neighbourhood batteries can help stabilise the electricity grid, increasing reliability and reducing black and brown outs. If you're exploring a neighbourhood battery project, Acacia Energy can work with you from feasibility all the way through procurement, installation, connection and operations. We simplify the complex and give you confidence in the ongoing revenue you can achieve. Chat to us today 👉 https://lnkd.in/gvHu2WUu

If you’ve ever looked into solar projects in Australia, chances are you’ve come across STCs and LGCs. But what exactly are they, and how do they make your solar install more affordable? We’ve just published a guide that breaks down the difference between Small-Scale Technology Certificates and Large-Scale Generation Certificates, including: ☀️ How they work and who’s eligible ☀️ How they help reduce the upfront cost of solar ☀️ How they produce ongoing revenue for your business ☀️ Examples of how much your business could save ☀️ Considerations for system size depending on your energy use needs. Whether you're planning a rooftop installation under 100kW or a larger project, understanding these certificate schemes can make a real difference to your project's economics. 📖 Read the full article here: https://lnkd.in/gQs8FwZF Let us know if you have questions – we’re always happy to chat. #SolarPV #RenewableEnergy #STCs #LGCs #VEECs

👋 Meet Richard Martin – Managing Director at Acacia Energy Richard founded AEES Group in 2014, which then merged with Acacia Energy in 2024. With extensive experience leading innovative energy solutions, Richard continues to drive the business forward with a clear focus on sustainability and client value. "The diverse nature of the business we run – from delivering EPC services to creating new revenue streams for our clients through our Optimisation & Bid Engine Platform – is what keeps every day dynamic and rewarding," says Richard. "It's motivating to see the results we can achieve for our clients. For example, we recently offset up to 60 percent of grid-side energy use for a food processing client through solar and battery, helping them to reduce their energy cost and create new revenue through our generation services offering." Richard is passionate about sailing, solar, and sustainability. His ambition is to help offset 100,000 tonnes of carbon across Acacia Energy's operations. 🔗 Connect with Richard to learn more about how Acacia Energy is shaping the future of renewable energy: https://lnkd.in/gDtJVuvY

Is your council considering installing a neighbourhood battery? A neighbourhood battery can help: 🔋 Increase access to renewable energy and reduce the cost 🔋 Lower power bills 🔋 Generate revenue that can go back into the community 🔋 Provide a more reliable electricity supply 🔋 Help to manage energy supply and demand in low-voltage networks 🔋 Provide an increased ability to store renewable energy to be used all year round. The key to a successful neighbourhood battery project is understanding the costs and potential benefit from the get-go, so that you can better engage with the community and other stakeholders. Acacia Energy has proven experience working with council, not-for-profits and other community groups to guide them through the process of investigating and installing a community battery. We can take the guesswork out of the project and help you secure grant funding through the 100 Neighbourhood Batteries Program. Interested in exploring a neighbourhood battery project in your area? That's a wrap for the Melbourne Grand Prix! 🏎️ As proud supporters of Marcos Flack at the Porsche Carrera Cup, some of the Acacia Energy team were able to meet and cheer on Marcos from the sidelines. Here's what Marcos had to say after taking 3rd place and securing his spot on the podium: "Heading into the weekend, the focus was on building a solid performance, keeping everything clean, and making sure I could build on the solid points from Round 1. Race 2 was about doing the same thing as Race 1: staying smart, staying clean, and maximising any opportunities that came my way to secure more solid points. For the last race of the weekend, I started 5th, tied for 4th on points. After a great start, I moved up to 4th, but two faster cars from further back caught and overtook me, allowing me to settle into a comfortable 6th. That would have been another solid finish and a great points haul, but my pace improved as the race went on. I caught the two cars in front before they caused an incident, which I was able to capitalise on, finishing 4th in the last race and 3rd for the round overall." Congratulations Marcos, and looking forward to supporting you in future races! #Formula1 #MelbourneGrandPrix #PorscheCarreraCup #AcaciaEnergy
