Today, at the Smart Energy Conference in Sydney, we announced that vehicle-to-grid (V2G) technology is market-ready a milestone for sustainable energy and future networks. In collaboration with CSIRO, Sigenergy, and AUSEV®, we have successfully connected AUSEV’s Ford F-150 Lightning using a combined charging system (CCS2) DC bi-directional charger with the Clean Energy Council-approved Sigenergy storage system. Embracing new technology to manage over 10 million assets, streamline maintenance requirements, and provide a comprehensive view of our asset management systems demands robust solutions to ensure sustainability. At the Oracle Cloud World Tour in March, we announced the integration of the Oracle Fusion Cloud Application Suite with Oracle Utilities Work and Asset Cloud Services (WACS) into our systems. This integration enhances our business insights, improves operational efficiency, and optimises workforce management to meet evolving customer expectations. As we strive to implement sustainable and reliable energy across our extensive network, we recognise the importance of engaging our regional, rural and remote customers. Last week, we visited Narrabri, a town at the forefront of renewable energy innovation, to participate in the New Energy Expo hosted by Geni.Energy Limited. Our Head of Commercial Development, Andrew Hillsdon, delivered an insightful presentation on our network's potential, battery trials, electrification, the growth of electric vehicle charging, and vehicle-to-grid technology. We also had the pleasure of sharing information about exciting new career opportunities at our event stall. Narrabri's commitment to renewable energy, exemplified by projects like the Narrabri Solar Farm and the Community Battery Project, made it the perfect location for this event. Unpredictable weather conditions can significantly impact our network. The recent power interruptions and network damage in Northern NSW caused by Ex-Cyclone Alfred highlight the potential risks we face. To address these challenges, and to build resilient network structure we are implementing state-of-the-art technology to optimise vegetation management, crucial for maintaining our assets and ensuring customer safety. Our Network Risk Senior Specialist, Alex Bardon 家驊, and Data Scientist, Oscar Gibson, will discuss our innovative approach at the AMPEAK conference 'New Waves in Asset Management' in Queensland next week. They will cover how we use machine learning and spatial measurements from LiDAR data within a Digital Twin platform to monitor and maintain our extensive network. How many times have you used AI today? It's likely more than you think, as AI systems increasingly underpin our everyday activities in ways that aren't always visible. Integrating digital enhancements, including AI, across our operations is crucial for maximising operational efficiency and enabling smart, safe, and reliable energy systems. Our Chief Digital Officer, Sarah McCullough recently had a fireside (human) chat with Professor Toby Walsh at the ACS (Australian Computer Society) Industry Insights event. They discussed how the decentralisation of the energy network is sparking a revolution in digitisation and how AI is being optimised for energy forecasting, demand management, and predictive maintenance through programs such as Digital Twin technology. The topic of Diversity and Inclusion might once have been a mere checkbox on an agenda, with little action to follow. However, gender equality is no passing trend. Leading the charge is WORK180, which recently conducted a rigorous assessment of 5,000 workplaces to identify the top 101 workplaces for women. Rooftop solar generation is on the rise and capturing and storing excess energy is crucial. We're testing various energy storage solutions, including community batteries in Maloney's Beach, Goulburn, and Leeton.
