Kai has been shaping the Internet of Things space for over 25 years, specializing in domains like smart homes, energy management, e-mobility, and automotive. 𝗪𝗵𝘆 𝗶𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁❓ 👉 Kai presented the "Fleet Management" blueprint, a real-world example developed within the Eclipse Software Defined Vehicle working group of the Eclipse Foundation. This project showcases how fleet managers and vehicle manufacturers can lower their total cost of ownership by leveraging Open Source Software to get telemetry data from the CAN bus to a Fleet Management backend. ✍ 𝗢𝘂𝗿 𝗞𝗲𝘆 𝗧𝗮𝗸𝗲𝗮𝘄𝗮𝘆𝘀: 1️⃣ Transforming your organization from an Open Source consumer to a contributor and strategic user is a cultural challenge 2️⃣ Open Source strategies pay off by reducing TCO, setting de facto standards, driving innovation, and increasing reputation 3️⃣ Is the Eclipse Software Defined Vehicle approach transferable to the existing mixed fleet challenges of farm machinery? 💡𝗧𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗹𝗮𝘀𝘁 𝗾𝘂𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗴𝗼𝘁 𝘂𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴.
