We are incredibly excited to unveil 💫 The Eclipse Performance Thesis 💫 As consensus has traditionally been the main performance bottleneck, blockchain has not benefited thus far from well-known performance optimization techniques used in systems engineering. Eclipse aims to correct this oversight. Through techniques such as hardware-software co-design with the use of hardware such as SmartNICs and FPGAs,, cross-layer optimizations, hotspot and contention-aware scheduling, reinforcement learning, a complete redesign of the storage layer and many more, we will increase the amount of computational power of the Eclipse network by orders of magnitude. We refer to this as GigaCompute.
