Speed, precision, flexibility, and energy efficiency: For us, these factors are key when manufacturing the complex metal parts that we supply to our in-house and third-party customers – and with a new metal 3D printer at our Nuremberg plant in Germany, we want to bolster our pioneering role in the supplier industry. 💪 With an investment of almost 6 million euros in the center, the new 3D printer is intended to accelerate development cycles, especially for metal parts, which take a long time to make using conventional manufacturing processes. Whether in the industrial, transport, or energy sectors, there is enormous potential for decarbonization if hydrogen is used as an energy source – especially if it is produced using renewables. 🍃 Producing this green hydrogen requires electrolysis systems, and our Hybrion stack is a key component for them. At this year’s HANNOVER MESSE trade fair, we are premiering two Hybrion PEM (proton exchange membrane) electrolysis stacks as a modular container solution integrated into an electrolysis system. Such stacks are at the heart of the electrolyzer. For each Hybrion stack unit, over one hundred electrolysis cells are arranged in layers. For this, we have developed a special clamping tool that greatly simplifies and accelerates the manufacturing process. Each stack has an output of 1.25 megawatts and can produce up to 23 kilograms of hydrogen per hour from water and electricity. This is enough for a 40-ton truck with a fuel-cell powertrain to travel around 250 to 300 kilometers. 🚚 Learn more: https://bit.ly/HM25_Bosch

As they melt at a quick pace, water around the world is becoming more unpredictable – impacting people and the planet. 🌍 Before joining Bosch, Dr. Urs Ruth spent eight years in climate and polar research, studying glacier melt and its impact on the global water cycle. Now, he applies this expertise in climate change and energy transition at Bosch Research. 🧑🔬 "What I love about research is that you are asked to be curious," Urs says. #EarthHour began as a symbolic lights-out event in Sydney, Australia, and has grown into one of the world's largest grassroots movements for the environment. 🌍 At Bosch, sustainability is an integral part of our corporate culture. We actively support initiatives like #EarthHour to raise awareness and, beyond that, continually strive for more climate action. With its more than 400 locations worldwide, the Bosch Group has been carbon neutral overall (scopes 1 & 2 of the "Greenhouse Gas Protocol Corporate Accounting and Reporting Standard") since 2020. This is achieved with four levers: improving energy efficiency, generating energy from renewable sources, purchasing green electricity, and offsetting residual CO₂ emissions with carbon credits. Since 2019, we have initiated around 6,000 projects worldwide, capturing savings potential of 984 GWh until 2023. But we're not stopping there: our goal is to save 1.7 TWh through increased energy efficiency by 2030. At the German site in Blaichach, for example, waste heat from compressed air, cold water, and cooling water production is used to generate heat. When the project is completed at the end of 2025, natural gas consumption for heat generation is expected to be reduced by 92 percent compared to 2021. This measure was already effective in 2024 and reduced natural gas consumption by 80 percent compared to 2021. 🐘 Protecting gentle giants: Over 180 elephants live in captivity in Karnataka, India – many suffering from neglect and poor health. That’s why we teamed up with the Karnataka Forest Department and the Wildlife Rescue and Rehabilitation Centre - WRRC to establish an elephant sanctuary. 🌿 Spread across nearly 100 acres, this sanctuary offers rescued elephants the space and freedom they need to heal. We provided the facility with our off-grid solar system, security cameras, and secure fencing to keep the elephants safe. Special weighing scales help track the elephants’ health, monitoring their muscle and bone mass as they regain strength. By supporting medical care, food, and essential supplements – this initiative is helping them recover and, one day, return to the wild.
