Solar Orbiter is the first to capture on camera how particles are whirled from the Sun’s surface, caught in ‘cyclones’ that extend millions of kilometres from the Sun. The spacecraft is on a mission to uncover how the Sun sends out the never-ending stream of particles called the solar wind.
