Last week I told you about a strategy for fixing your broken content schedule—retreating.

If you missed it, the idea is that instead of trying to post for today and get ahead at the same time (which never works), you forget about today entirely and start writing stuff for six weeks from now.

This week I’m showing you what happened when we actually followed that advice ourselves at SBX.

Spoiler: It worked. Like, really worked.

So before we launched our podcast, our social presence was garbage. We were so busy helping clients get their shows out that our own marketing got left for dead. That meant we had no plan and no consistency.

Here's how bad it was: in the three months before the show launched, we posted 29 times. Total. Across all platforms.

Then we launched the show, treated ourselves like a client, and followed the same playbook we use with everyone else.

  • We locked down our message
  • Built a whole content plan around the podcast
  • Made sure every episode got chopped into clips, posts, and emails
  • And most importantly, we scheduled weeks worth of content before we went live.

Here’s what happened in the first 3 months after the show launched:

  • We went from 29 posts to 289
  • Engagements jumped from 61 to 1,347
  • Views exploded from 1,972 to over 50,000

Night and day, right?

That's what happens when you commit to content. You create opportunity all the time. And that's why I like podcasting, because it's an easy and comfortable format for me to do it. I enjoy the process, and the results are undeniable. Beyond the numbers, some other benefits I've seen from regularly posting content are:

  • More referrals from my network
  • More calls with potential customers
  • and compliments in conversations with my network

So if you’re tired of scrambling to figure out what to post and when, here’s my advice: make a podcast, build your content engine around it, and give yourself a shot at this kind of consistency.

If you want some help getting started—or you’ve got a show but no system—you can set up a free strategy session here.
