Meet some of AILA’s Cultural Ambassadors! During NAIDOC Week, we would like to shine a spotlight on AILA's Cultural Ambassadors. AILA’s Cultural Ambassador contributions enrich the committee, the Board and AILA by providing cultural perspectives on issues, guiding future Reconciliation Action Plans and AILA Connection to Country Committee documents, and offering expertise in cross-cultural training. Meet Tommy Day III (https://lnkd.in/dFiycHYj), AILA Cultural Ambassador. ➤ Who is your mob? Gunditjmara, Wemba Wemba and Yorta Yorta ➤ What does NAIDOC Week mean to you? NAIDOC is a reminder for us that there was a dream for us, to celebrate us, our culture, everything about us. That's what it means to me. ➤ What does this year's NAIDOC Theme mean to you? Just a reminder and a reinforcement that the work is not done. There is more work to do. For us to keep that fire burning inside us towards creating a future where we are not forgotten. Every year NAIDOC has a theme - at the core of NAIDOC every year is - us. We are the constant. The themes can be an ode to the past, the current moment ie referendum, but its always thinking about the next ones (generations) that are coming. Served as a reminder of the work that we do today will ensure the next generations existence is that much easier than ours today. ➤ How do you view your role as Cultural Ambassador? I feel my role as a Cultural Ambassador is a role of advocacy to be a voice for the voiceless, face for the faceless and to be Traditional Owners championed in the room when they are not in the room. All this is in regards to the most important asset that we hold which is Country and to raise the bar of expectations within the industry beyond consultations, beyond a watered-down form of engagement to a true and equitable partnership. Our thanks to AILA Cultural Ambassadors for their guidance, and for the knowledge they share with us. For more information about the role of AILA's Cultural Ambassadors, please head to https://lnkd.in/gYN4AgKu #NAIDOCWeek #AILA #ConnectionToCountry

This strategic partnership enhances Indigenous participation, cultural intelligence, and economic empowerment across these critical sectors. We envision an inclusive industry landscape where Indigenous voices and expertise drive growth and sustainability. With our deep commitment to cultural competency, TCIP will bring its expertise in culturally informed training, consulting, and support to IDIC’s mission. This collaboration will provide businesses with access to training, Indigenous procurement opportunities, and resources designed to foster respectful and inclusive practices. “Our partnership with iDiC reflects a mutual dedication to honouring Indigenous knowledge and creating lasting, positive impacts within Australia’s economic landscape,” Co-Founder of TCIP, Adele Peek said “Together, we aim to open doors for Indigenous businesses and entrepreneurs and ensure cultural intelligence is a cornerstone in these fields.” iDiC is particularly impressed by TCIP’s Cultural iQ e-learning platform, recognizing its potential to deliver scalable learning for its clients and networks, including opportunities to engage and educate youth. iDiC CEO Adam Goodes “I’m really excited to onboard TCIP to iDiC’s consortium. Excited to have co-authored the #APRALO ICANN81 Readout, summarizing key discussions and insights from the #ICANN81 meeting in #Istanbul! As a fellow, I had the chance to engage with the multistakeholder community, explore critical #internet_governance issues, and witness policy discussions shaping the future of the internet. The readout highlighted the #APAC region’s growing engagement in ICANN, addressing challenges like #time_zones, language barriers, and regional disparities. Key discussions focused on expanding the Applicant Support Program (#ASP), fostering end-user participation, strengthening regional collaboration, and enhancing government involvement in #Internet governance. Participants emphasized the need for mentorship, outreach, and alignment with global frameworks like the #SDGs. These insights will shape preparations for #ICANN82.
