WHY COLLABORATION IS KEY 🤝   Why is the human species so successful and dominant on this planet? No, it is not only because of the survival of the fittest. It is because of the unique capabilities of #collaboration. No other species on this planet is able to create solutions together like humans. Nowadays, we do not use this gift enough. Why are we accepting that our economy is based on competition and not just economy, the whole society is dominated by competition every day, including the way we educate our children in school? Imagine a world where collaboration is first priority! Imagine what we could achieve together! How can we get there? By creating projects of collaboration, which offer better solutions than without collaboration. ➡️ At ORTOVOX, we're proud to support collaboration through the European Outdoor Group (EOG) Impact Accelerator Fund (IAF). This initiative, which we helped launch, allows outdoor brands to unite against the #climatecrisis, achieving greater impact collectively. The first project focuses on expanding #renewable energy access in Taiwan, a crucial manufacturing hub for our #industry. Led by Act Renewable, this project will guide businesses through the renewable energy transition, benefiting many brands. Launched in 2023, the Impact Accelerator Fund fosters collaboration to support decarbonisation in outdoor industry supply chains. Brands like ORTOVOX, W. L. Gore & Associates, Icebug AB, and VAUDE are proving that TOGETHER, we can do more!   By creating more and more examples of collaboration, we can build a better society and support our planet. Last week’s Pilot Showcase at Newlab in the Brooklyn Navy Yard was filled with inspiration and innovation as attendees heard from various startups who are working to move further, faster towards meaningful climate change impact. Our co-founder and CFO, John Wheeler, joined Elise Neel and Satish Rao onstage to tell the incredibly impactful story for the first time of how Fermata Energy’s V2X platform technology, with support by Newlab and Verizon Ventures, supported powering that very building during a Hurricane as a VIP meeting was taking place! The mobility industry accounts for 28% of all greenhouse emissions and is the rightful focus for climate change innovation. 2. The acceleration of this movement towards decarbonization depends on technological solutions finding evangelists to bring them to life, and oftentimes that’s a corporate investor who aligns with the mission and vision of the founders. 3. Sometimes mother nature plays a hand in providing a proving ground for ideas, whether your startup is ready for that challenge or not! 4. Climate change innovation is happening everywhere you look, from seawood collection to roofing automation and mineral mining recovery systems. The opportunities are endless and need widespread support to accelerate progress.

🌍 Today is World Environment Day! 🚨According to the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification, up to 40% of the planet's land is degraded, directly affecting half of the world's population and threatening about half of global GDP ($44 trillion). The number and duration of droughts have increased by 29% since 2000: without urgent action, droughts could affect more than three-quarters of the world's population by 2050. 🛰️This is where #spacetech comes to action: Space-based technologies, such as remotely sensed data, have enhanced scientific understanding of water cycles, air quality, forests and other aspects of the natural environment. These surveying and monitoring tools provide valuable information on the state of ecosystems, which offers objective support for positive environmental action, including conservation and sustainable resource management. 💦 With our INNO4CFIs Project, we are leveraging cutting-edge technologies and nature-based solutions to promote sustainable environmental practices, with a focus on carbon farming, reforestation, and agroforestry systems to increase CO2 uptake while nurturing vital environmental benefits like freshwater production, soil restoration and biodiversity enhancement starting with planting 6000 trees in Europe.
