Pharma / digital partnerships: a readout from Frontiers Health Berlin 📰 During Frontiers Health in Berlin this year, Daiichi Sankyo’s DSPACE hosted a session on how to establishn successful partnerships between large pharma companies and digital health start-ups. It’s a regular topic of debate as many of those partnerships failed in the past, filling a graveyard of pilots, experimentations and MVPs. The session highlighted the following: 📍 Be more problem-focused than techno-focused : avoid transactional partnerships betting on current tech’s hype and focus on the patient issue that needs to be solved. 🧬 Align culture and DNA: try to find common goals and values and then leverage strengths of each party 🪴 Think big, start small: accept baby steps at the beginning, and try to maintain consistent oversight and teams 🎢 Prepare for a bumpy road: data integration, clinical evidence, getting providers’ attention, … all of that is not secured and require a significant heavy lifting in the collaboration Of course, everyone will tell it’s obvious, that they know.
