Gothenburg has been my home for 19 months of 21 years in Sweden —a journey of growth, challenges, and transformation. I’ve walked into countless rooms where “diversity and inclusion” were the topic of discussion. To those driving real change, thank you—your work matters. Your work matters deeply. Yet, in some of these rooms, I’ve felt excluded. It wasn’t just diversity that I brought into those spaces—I am inclusion. But I’ve realized that simply being the embodiment of inclusion isn’t enough. Sometimes, it feels like being seen and heard is still a battle. Then I began asking myself - Will they let me sit at the table? Here’s what I’ve discovered: 🔹 If no one offers you a chair, build your own table—and make space for others. 🔹 Let rejection fuel your vision. 🔹 Stop waiting for permission. 🌟 Kicking Off 2025 with Gratitude & Growth 🌟 A strong start to the year is often defined by the people we meet, the ideas we exchange, the perspectives we gain, AND the projects we have successfully completed together. I had the privilege of attending the New Year Business Reception hosted by the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Slovenia - NLinSlovenia, where business leaders, cultural pioneers, and government representatives gathered to celebrate the year ahead. A heartfelt thank you to the NL embassy for bringing together such a remarkable group of individuals. Events like these are more than just networking opportunities—they are spaces for learning, collaboration, and progress. Each conversation is a reminder that growth is continuous and that the best way forward is through shared knowledge and meaningful connections. Moreover, it is a key moment when new ideas, plans, and projects are born. As we step into 2025, I’m embracing a mindset of constant improvement and exploration. Journeys… One thing that inspires me is seeing the world and learning about different cultures and traditions. It is incredible to think about the journeys, itineraries, and the distances covered. Past journeys have had me having breakfast in Prague, lunch in Bratislava, then dinner in Budapest. Breakfast in New York, lunch in Phoenix and dinner in LA. Lunch in London, dinner in Singapore and breakfast in Sydney. Dinner in Cape Town, breakfast in Perth and lunch in Melbourne. Breakfast in Sofia, lunch in Frankfurt and dinner in London. Last week I had breakfast in Ljubljana, lunch in Graz and dinner in Budapest. Today my journey is relatively boring; brunch in Budapest and dinner in Amsterdam. I’m very excited to be going to Amsterdam to be part of #BABeyond24 to connect and interact with awesome BAs from all over the world. And another journey will take place with the #BABeyond team: 30 May — Amsterdam, 3-4 June — Leuven, and 6 June — Luxembourg. There will be BA thought leaders from 5 continents taking part. 🌟 Unveiling Germany: A Journey of Discovery and Teamwork! 🇩🇪 I’m thrilled to share that my team and I recently completed an extensive presentation on Germany. This project was an incredible journey, offering us deep insights into a country known for its rich history, cultural diversity, and economic prowess. 🔍 In-Depth Exploration: Cultural Tapestry: We delved into Germany’s vibrant traditions, iconic festivals like Oktoberfest, and its dynamic art and music scenes. Understanding the cultural nuances helped us appreciate Germany's unique societal fabric. Economic Landscape: Our analysis covered Germany’s robust economy, focusing on its key industries such as automotive, engineering, and technology. We also discussed Germany’s role in the EU and global markets, highlighting its innovative approaches and economic resilience. Historical Perspectives: We traced significant historical events from the unification of Germany to the fall of the Berlin Wall. This historical context enriched our understanding of Germany’s current socio-political environment. This wasn't just any agreement—it was a promise between the Prague Convention Bureau and the Faculty of International Relations /Prague University of Economics and Business/ to forge ahead with a shared vision. Martina Jiránková, Jan Kubinec and Lenka Zlebkova put pen to paper, marking the beginning of something genuinely special. Special was also the expert discussion preceding the ceremony. Key Takeaways from the Expert Panel Discussion: Lenka Zlebkova shared her passion for pushing us towards sustainable practices, reminding us why we do what we do. Roman Muška echoed the sentiment, focusing on the crucial role of #ESG in keeping Prague at the top of the #MICE world. It's all about making real, impactful changes. Jan Kubinec's insights on event tech were a highlight. Integrating #AI to enhance the attendee experience and improve event demographics isn't just innovative; it's essential. It's about making every interaction count, bringing a level of personalization we've only dreamed of. Katerina Hajkova’s take on the post-COVID landscape hit home. The agility we've shown in organizing large-scale events swiftly, with a keen eye on sustainability, is nothing short of revolutionary. Against the vibrant backdrop of SYNIKISMOI Festival, 27 cities united to explore the transformative power of culture. 🇩🇰🇸🇪 Celebrating National Days and Embracing Diversity! 🇩🇰🇸🇪 Today, we celebrate Denmark's National Day, and tomorrow, we join our Swedish colleagues in honoring Sweden's Flag Day. Working in an international company as Zacco - 360° Intellectual Property, we have the unique opportunity to embrace and celebrate the diverse cultures and traditions that each of us brings to the table. Last week was particularly enriching as Mille Bülow Verndal and I had the pleasure of bringing together colleagues from Denmark, Sweden and India. These interactions highlighted the beauty of our diverse workplace and the immense value that comes from sharing different perspectives. Here are a few learnings from these interactions: 1. **Cultural Insights:** Understanding the nuances of our work cultures has broadened my perspective and it will improve our collaboration. 2. **Innovative Solutions:** Diverse viewpoints often lead to creative solutions. Our discussions led to innovative ideas that I wouldn't have thought of alone. 3. **Strengthened Bonds:** Celebrating our differences and learning from one another has strengthened our team's bond and built a more inclusive work environment. As we celebrate these national days, let's continue to honor and learn from the rich tapestry of cultures within our global team. Embracing diversity isn't just about acknowledging different national days—it's about integrating the best of each culture into our everyday work life. ….
