Cyprus Municipalities Step into the New Digital Era Today’s event brought together mayors, deputy mayors, municipal representatives and digital twin professionals from across Cyprus to explore how Local Digital Twins, European interoperability tools, and smart data infrastructures can support sustainable, efficient, and people-focused cities. From CYENS Centre of Excellence, Υφ. Έρευνας, Καινοτομίας & Ψηφιακής Πολιτικής / DepMinistry of Research, Innovation & Digital Policy, Union of Cyprus Municipalities, Serendipity, Nicosia Municipality, KIOS Research and Innovation Center of Excellence, Digital Innovation Hub Cyprus (DiGiNN), EIT Community Hub Cyprus, EIT Urban Mobility European Office of Cyprus, ENoLL (European Network of Living Labs), and the Living in EU initiative, to tools like LORDIMAS and the Online Procurement Helpdesk, we showcased practical ways that cities can accelerate their digital journeys — starting today. What stood out most? Change is already happening — with Cypriot municipalities piloting smart mobility, digital planning, and green innovation projects, grounded in real data and community needs. Cities a of all sizes can benefit from digital twins as they can cover from basic dashboards monitoring different indicators to more advanced applications involving decision-making Digital twins come in various maturity levels and also depend on the digital maturity of your city. A special thank you to Mr. Charalambos Prountzos, Mayor of Nicosia Municipality and Chairman of the Board of CYENS Centre of Excellence, whose leadership and vision guide the city’s digital transformation. We are grateful to all speakers, partners, and participants who contributed to today’s rich exchange of knowledge and inspiration. Congratulations to our CAVE Manager Susheel Nath for his contribution to the MIRDI SR event in Bratislava, Slovakia! 👏 As FARI's XR/VR Specialist, Susheel gave a keynote speech on "Introduction to Digital Twins: How can municipalities plan and manage development more effectively" at the Ministerstvo investícií, regionálneho rozvoja a informatizácie SR event on Monday, April 7. His speech was one of multiple expert presentations given at the "Increasing Digitalization Awareness & Readiness of Slovak Municipalities for Digitalization" event. The focus of these presentations was to give local government representatives the background information and understanding they need to support their digital initiatives for various European digital topics. ✨ Congratulations to all of the incredible speakers who participated in this event! 🎉 Hrvatski gradovi na putu digitalne transformacije! 🎉 Još uvijek sam pod snažnim dojmom nakon hibridne konferencije „Jačanje spremnosti hrvatskih lokalnih vlasti za digitalizaciju uprave“, održane ove srijede, 9. travnja 2025. godine. Prvo želim od srca zahvaliti svojim kolegama – posebno Dario Runtic, Zoran Cetinjanin i Danijel Antonic – na povjerenju koje su mi ukazali da organiziram i moderiram ovaj važan događaj. Prvi put sam se okušala u ovakvoj ulozi, i moram priznati da je bilo izazovno, ali svaki trenutak truda se isplatio! 💡Hvala kolegama iz europske organizacije Serendipity - Christopher Aguilar, Genoveva Gil i Ignacio Garcia Vega na vašoj pomoći i koordinaciji, zadovoljstvo je raditi sa vama! Veliko hvala svim govornicima što ste se odazvali i nesebično podijelili svoje znanje, iskustvo i inspirativne primjere. De Smart Region Partnerdag bood niet alleen diepgaande inzichten in de impact van #digitaltwins op lokale en regionale besturen, maar was ook een krachtige bron van inspiratie. De Partnerdag bracht verschillende bestuurslagen en regio’s samen, wat resulteerde in waardevolle kruisbestuiving, samenwerking en kennisdeling. Dank aan alle sprekers voor de waardevolle inzichten!  Ben je geïnspireerd en wil je samen met je lokaal bestuur werken aan een digitale toekomst? Digitaal Vlaanderen biedt binnen het project 'Local Digital Twin Toolbox' nog enkele plaatsen aan om, via een interview en met de ondersteuning van LORDIMAS, een eigen roadmap voor een digital twin uit te werken.
