"we are reducing the level of difficulty for women"
It’s too early on a Monday morning for this.
LinkedIn, please do better when deciding who gets "Top Voice" 😭 . Claiming "we are reducing the level of difficulty for women" is not only false but shows internal bias.
The reality is, efforts like targeted sourcing or events like the #GraceHopperConference exist to promote and foster growth for women in tech, which is absolutely needed and valuable.
Here’s the truth: You didn’t lose the job because they found “her.” They found her, and she was better.
Posts like this fuel the second-guessing of women, PoC, and other underrepresented groups in the workplace. And let’s be honest, if it’s not race or gender, people will always find something else to blame. It’s easier to point fingers than to accept that, AT THIS MOMENT, someone else might be more capable. That doesn’t mean you can’t get there, it just means it’s time to focus on growth instead of throwing rocks.
Also, mentioning you said this because of a family member is the same energy as saying "I'm allowed to say X, my best friend is Y"

On a serious note,
Don’t just see the tweet read the complete post too, the main reason behind this statement of removing diversity hiring from the hiring infrastructure is
1. First of all why we are reducing the level of difficulty for women, they are capable of what a man can.
2. Secondly the worst part is even though a girl achieve something there is always a thought in everyones mind that she might have got there from the easy path.
Im not a misogynist or feminist, im just putting my point as an elder brother as i have seen my sister faced this when she got a job offer even though it was off-campus.
So either remove this or make it to the same level so that no one can question their capabilities.
Peace out ✌️.

I think in 2024 a lot of companies have started to address inequality and bias in their hiring process and are making great strides in E,D&I at the point of hiring. Not all, but a lot.
As Community Network Chair for Disability and Chronic Illness I've been thinking a lot about how we can develop this further in 2025 and for me the next metric that needs a serious look at across all companies is staff retention of marginalised groups, it's all well and good getting people in the door, ticking off some boxes and patting ourselves on the back but are we putting the support structures in to ensure thos staff are happy enough, comfortable enough and supported enough to stay in our companies, because for me that's a much more important and more telling figure.
The world, and therefore our workplace economies, stand so much to gain from the character built in the years of raising young children. These years can build up or reveal a lack of intrinsic motivation: the desire to do better when no one is watching and kudos are delayed, if not non-existent. Temptations to cut corners abound amidst the endless tasks of caring for little ones. Integrity is not learned as a philosophical college subject; integrity is built in the doing. Employers and employees alike should be mindful of this when hiring, evaluating and understanding gaps in employment. What do you think? If you’re a parent, how has it influenced your value in the marketplace?
🌟 Exciting News from Boffin Recruitment! 🌟
We are thrilled to have partnered with another employer who welcomes a recruitment process focused on inclusivity through the use of blind CVs.
At Boffin Recruitment, we've been actively consulting on strategies to eliminate bias based on gender, ethnicity, age, and socio-economic status. By removing names, educational backgrounds, and dates where necessary, we aim to create a level playing field for all candidates, allowing their skills and experiences to shine through.
Together, we can foster a more diverse and equitable workplace. Stay tuned for updates on our progress! 💼🤝

"Why should I hire someone I don’t know when I’ve got family members and close friends who are still jobless?
Yes, they might not meet all the qualifications, but at least they’ll give it a shot, and truthfully, it’s easier for me knowing that my own people are earning. I mean, if I hire someone from outside, I’m just adding to the list of strangers who don’t even greet me well when I see them in the market.
At least with family, if they mess up, I know where they live!"
"Is it better for a company to hire based on merit, or should they consider tribe, gender, or age to maintain 'balance' in the workplace?"
