Our justice system is failing people in prison. HM Inspectorate of Prisons' latest report reveals that people in prison are spending far too long locked in cells, with inadequate access to education, training and work. 📉 For women, the surge in substance misuse, self-harm and violence highlights a system in crisis. We must do better to help them rebuild their lives. https://lnkd.in/ecmTSwRd #JusticeReform #WomenInPrison #PrisonReform

April is Second Chance Month President Biden's Proclamation regarding Second Chance Month: "America was founded on the promise of new beginnings. During Second Chance Month, we recommit to building a criminal justice system that lives up to those ideals so that people returning to their communities from jail or prison have a fair shot at the American Dream. Every year, more than 650,000 people are released from State and Federal prisons, some leaving with nothing more than a few dollars and a bus ticket to start their new lives. Studies show that when basic needs are met, we do not just empower formerly incarcerated people — we prevent crime and make our communities safer." #pathfinderstc #secondchancemonth24 #reentrymatters #pathwaytosuccess

Let's address the 'elephant' in the cannabis industry... "Imagine sitting in a cell for years, decades, or even for life, convicted of an activity that is no longer a crime, while thousands of other people build intergenerational wealth doing exactly the same thing. That is the situation that tens of thousands of drug war prisoners face today in the United States alone, while countless others languish in jails and prisons worldwide. The Last Prisoner Project has one singular mission: to set them free." - The Last Prisoner Project Learn more about it here: https://lnkd.in/gB_99mZ #LastPrisonerProject #SocialJustice #LegalizeIt
