There are your high fidelity close up drone capture 3D Digital Twins, and the 3D Digital Twins that solve problems for a much "longer" problem. Satellite imagery was used to construct a 3D enough (barely) model of an urban environment to simulate the propogation of telco signal. If this wansnt done by HEAVY.AI in NVIDIA Omniverse, then manual signal checks need to be done by operators before deciding where to place the towers for maximum coverage. So yea, 3D Reality Modelling helps. ✅Follow Gowtham Elan for more insights into Reality Capture and Reality Modelling!

Visualizing an entire dataset at once, either pre-recorded or live streaming data, facilitates the detection of unexpected behaviors and critical events. For instance, you can easily navigate through the point cloud data, cross-referencing it with camera images and IMU readings, to gain a comprehensive understanding of the captured scene for further post processing. The RVP “A Visual Benchmark in Rome” dataset was collected near the iconic Colosseum of Rome, using a handheld setup, with a person walking around the area to gather comprehensive environmental information. The team used an assembly of two cameras in stereovision –for detailed visual representation of the environment, and an Ouster OS0-128 lidar –for high-resolution 3D mapping and precise motion and orientation. This powerful combination enables them to digitize a variety of scenarios with high accuracy. The dataset was created by Leonardo Brizi, Emanuele Giacomini, Luca Di Giammarino, Simone Ferrari, Omar Salem, Lorenzo De Rebotti, and Giorgio Grisetti of the Robots, Vision, and Perception (RVP) group at the University of Sapienza in Rome. This innovative team specializes in 3D scene reconstruction and mobile robot perception, tackling challenges from SLAM to precise localization. Link to the dataset and more about the project in the comments. 👇 #DataViz #Analytics #Robotics

How Photons Help Us See—and How We’re Taking Them Further Every second, tiny packets of energy called photons are on a mission to light up our world. Here’s how their journey unfolds: A photon begins at its source—whether that’s the 🌞 sun, a 💡 light bulb, or even your 📱 smartphone screen. It races outward at the speed of light (that’s 300,000 kilometers per second!). Along the way, it reflects, refracts, or scatters, navigating surfaces, water droplets, and dust particles. When a photon finally reaches your eye, the real magic happens. It’s absorbed by retinal cells, setting off a chain reaction that converts light into signals for your brain to decode. The result? The vivid images, colors, and scenes that shape how we see the world🌍. At Scantinel Photonics, we’re giving photons a new mission: helping machines see. Using 🚘 FMCW LiDAR, we harness photons to build precise 3D maps, enabling systems to perceive their surroundings with exceptional accuracy. It’s a continuation of their journey—one that’s redefining how technology understands and interacts with the world. #Photonics #FMCWLiDAR #AutonomousTechnology #Innovation #Scantinel

🚀 Update from vResolv.io! 🚀 We are thrilled to announce our latest development, which showcases our expertise in cutting-edge technology and GUI application development! 🌟 In this project, we developed a sophisticated GUI application that streams and saves data from advanced sensors, including gigEvision cameras and LIDAR sensors. Utilizing the powerful C++-Qt framework, we designed an application that ensures seamless performance and user experience. For LIDAR: - We integrated the ouster-sdk to capture point cloud data for real-time display. - Data packets were recorded and saved as .pcap files for further analysis. For Cameras: - Using LucidVision-ArenaSDK, we acquired high-quality images from the cameras. - We employed CUDA kernels to debayer raw BayerRG8 images, enabling clear and accurate image streams on the frontend. This project highlights our commitment to innovation and excellence in technology integration. Stay tuned for more updates and insights into our groundbreaking projects. #vResolv #GUIApplication #SensorIntegration #CPlusPlus #QtFramework #LIDAR #CameraTechnology #Innovation #TechNews
