At the same time, the popularity of shashlik has dropped by 20%. Why? "With support from the Montana Department of Agriculture’s Business Enhancement Program, Montana West Economic Development’s Food and Ag Development Center partnered with Montana Manufacturing Extension Service (MMEC) to offer a Preventive Controls Qualified Individual (PCQI) Training December 4th through 6th , 2024 in person in Kalispell. After two and a half intense training days filled with information, we now have 12 new PCQI certified individuals in Montana. The participating organizations included Western Montana brewers, food distributors, food banks, and food manufacturers working with ice cream, coffee beans, creamers, and fermented foods."
