1 in 4. Remember this statistic. It’s the number of people who are served by Health Centers across the United States of America. Over the past 50 + years the movement has become more and more significant and quite frankly, critical. This movement is like no other. It’s about courage, fortitude, perseverance, and compassion. It’s not a job it’s a way of life. It’s about advocating for all. It’s about being a solution for the ills of the world. It’s about lifting up while strengthening America’s landscape. With just a little federal funding, every dime is stretched and generating 6 times over. The person wins, the employee wins, the local economy wins, the state wins, and more significantly, the nation wins. Special thanks to Congress and to all U.S. Presidents over the past 50 years who have allocated funding to this beautiful movement. We are super excited to support our team who sacrifice daily to ensure that the mission lives on. To all the leaders, employees, patients, and families we salute you. Dr. Desai's presentation centered on Legacy's successful implementation of e-consults, highlighting our effective strategies for sustaining utilization over time. E-consults help to enhance patient care by enabling faster access to specialized expertise, increasing efficiency in care coordination, and providing convenient access to care. This is how Legacy practitioners like Dr. Desai can reach the most patients and improve the way health care is delivered.

Health Workforce Canada is partnering with Caregiver-Centered Care, University of Alberta, Department of Family Medicine, and Alberta Health Services for a pop-up webinar event on Tuesday, December 3rd from 1pm-2pm EST (10am-11am PST). It is open to all stakeholders, with an emphasis on health system planners, leaders, and policy makers who are looking to support family caregivers in their jurisdictions. At this webinar, “you will hear about the importance of supporting family caregivers and the valuable role they play in the healthcare workforce in Canada. We’ll review tangible work that the Caregiver-Centered Care Initiative, University of Alberta, Department of Family Medicine, and Alberta Health Services are implementing. We’ll also discuss current data and evidence, and potential solutions and recommendations that participants can bring back to their workplaces and jurisdictions to build a better system of support for family caregivers.” https://lnkd.in/e6sSwn-m

Our Pilot Project at West Toronto Community Health Services (WTCHS), now CommunitiCare Health, allowed patients to access massage therapy who otherwise wouldn't have been able to. These patients experienced better outcomes with massage therapy treatments, including decreased pain and improved overall health and wellbeing. The results of the Pilot Project are being used to advocate for further inclusion of massage therapy into primary care.
