1 in 4. Remember this statistic. It’s the number of people who are served by Health Centers across the United States of America. Over the past 50 + years the movement has become more and more significant and quite frankly, critical. This movement is like no other. It’s about courage, fortitude, perseverance, and compassion. It’s not a job it’s a way of life. It’s about advocating for all. It’s about being a solution for the ills of the world. It’s about lifting up while strengthening America’s landscape. With just a little federal funding, every dime is stretched and generating 6 times over. The person wins, the employee wins, the local economy wins, the state wins, and more significantly, the nation wins. Special thanks to Congress and to all U.S. Presidents over the past 50 years who have allocated funding to this beautiful movement. We are super excited to support our team who sacrifice daily to ensure that the mission lives on. To all the leaders, employees, patients, and families we salute you. To all of the volunteer and consumer board members, your service matters. #NationalCHCWeek🎉 #HealthCentersBridgingGaps #Advocacy #AmericaWinsWithCHCs #CelebratingQualityinHealhcare #EVERYONEMATTERS #INCLUSIVCARES
📣 To kick off National Health Center Week, August 4-10, the White House issued a proclamation recognizing the key role Community Health Centers play in making sure health care is a right in this country, not a privilege: "Federally funded community health centers are a lifeline for over 30 million Americans nationwide — providing affordable access to quality medical, dental, and behavioral health services, which save lives. Community health center sites are especially critical for people in Tribal, rural, and underserved communities because they are often the closest and most convenient sources of care. During National Health Center Week, we recognize the importance of the nearly 1,400 federally funded community health centers that provide critical services to Americans. We express our gratitude to their dedicated staff, who tirelessly devote themselves to the well-being of their patients. And we recommit to ensuring that every American has access to good-quality, affordable health care." Read the full proclamation: https://lnkd.in/e4E4hyDv #NHCW24 #ValueCHCs

Midweek Journal Reading, Vol. XV: Special Voting Edition The ability to vote is essential in advocating for policies that address health disparities, improve Latine and Hispanic communities' health outcomes, and is a critical determinant of community health and well-being. Still, the Latine electorate continues to face suppression, a challenge that also affects medical professionals and students. In this week's special voting edition reading of the JNHMA, we highlight the persistent barriers to voting faced by Latine medical professionals and their impacts on community health. Thank you, Las Vegas HEALS, for interviewing me and publishing a short article on innovation. Innovation leads to growth in the healthcare industry and improvement of patient outcomes, so it is a win-win. However, it sometimes feels too risky, even though not innovating is much riskier in the long term. Ask me about a systematic approach to #innovation in #healtcare. I can share with you some inspiring examples.
We are happy to announce the newest issue of Las Vegas Community Health Care Magazine, which focuses on Alcohol and its effects on the community. We are #LegacyProud of Dr. Pathik Desai from Legacy for his presentation at the Texas Association of Community Health Centers (TACHC) conference, where he shared the stage with the CEO of ConferMED. Dr. Desai's presentation centered on Legacy's successful implementation of e-consults, highlighting our effective strategies for sustaining utilization over time. E-consults help to enhance patient care by enabling faster access to specialized expertise, increasing efficiency in care coordination, and providing convenient access to care. This is how Legacy practitioners like Dr. Desai can reach the most patients and improve the way health care is delivered.
