As 2024 is rapidly drawing to a close, I wanted to share a few reflections of my first few months with Baker Hughes - BRUSH Power Generation. Firstly and most importantly, I have a fantastic wider team, their commitment to servicing and supporting our customer base is fantastic to see. Now I’m firmly back in the UK until January, a little bit on where I’ve been: - 4 visits to Czech Republic 🇨🇿 - 3 visits to the Netherlands 🇳🇱 - 1 visit to Slovakia 🇸🇰 - a lot of time in the UK 🇬🇧 It’s been a fantastic few months of understanding our teams, our customers and our supply chain. I absolutely believe that engagement and visibility is key to building successful working relationships with the team and our customer base. The true voice of customer is massively important to driving our service offerings into the future, if we do what our customer want us to do, then we will be successful, right? I now have a clear vision 👁️ on what we need to do to move forward and grow our services division (which we will). Do we do things well? So much ✅Do we make mistakes? Of course we do ✅Can we improve? Of course we can ✅ My main ask is always that we continually improve and learn from the mistakes we make. Enough of that. Now on to the exciting stuff! If you want to join a team and work for a company that’s going to grow and invest 💰in our product, our process and our people, then please take a look at the opportunities below in my wider organisation. I have the below vacancies available in my wider team, we are recruiting in all disciplines (Electrical, Mechanical and Winding) The even more exciting part - you can be based anywhere, well anywhere in my region, which spans from the United Kingdom across to New Zealand and everywhere in between. Based in the Americas 🇺🇸 Dissapointed that this region doesnt cover you? Fear not - my counterpart Colleen Deist is also recruiting. So actually you can be based anywhere. So please apply and we will make sure you’re application gets to the right place. These roles can take you anywhere in the world 🌏working on our equipment which truly does have a global presence. ⚡️Global Electrical Field Service Engineer - https://lnkd.in/eMp9e2ty 🧰Global Mechanical Field Service Engineer - https://lnkd.in/eQjYcTJk 👩🔧Global Winding Field Service Engineer - https://lnkd.in/etdftv3W If you have some generator experience and think you’d be a good fit for one of these roles then please apply. If you believe your skills may be transferable or you aren’t yet the finished article then please also apply. We have a training centre in Florence 🇮🇹where we can develop and hone your skills. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity, replacing complete Turbine and Generator units doesn’t happen often, in fact on Cruachan U3 & U4, it’s not happened together since original installation in 1965.
📢 The upgrade of Units 3&4 at our Cruachan Power Station, is creating some amazing career opportunities. 🌟 You can find the fantastic vacancies we're kicking off with, in the comments, and for any questions on the roles or our application process, you can contact Laura Stephenson - Resourcing Business Partner. 🎥 Let's hear from Mike Wynd, in the video below to find out more about the upgrade and the future opportunities! #careers #project #vacancies

Let's Explore the most asked Question in an interview? Kia Apny kbi grid dekha h? so from now onward your answer must be yes as I am sharing virtual substation that show all its components and animate their functions 🤩 So what is substation? It is the power station which energy transmitted at high voltage from generationg station,by either step-up or step-down the voltage to a value appropriate for local use and provide facilities for switching. Lets Discuss about components of substation ? It includes various components including: 1) Busbar Al or Cu conductors supported on procelain insulators, carry the electric energy from point to point. 2) Disconnector These are used to isooate equipment and are no_load devices. Isolators are mechanical switch that isolate the faulty section of substation. 3) Circuit breaker It is used to interrupt circuits while current is flowing through them. 4) Current Transformer It is connected in series with line which I. measure current when used with ammeter, watt-hour meters, compensator and II. provide protection using protective and regulating relays and trip coil of CB. 5) Voltage Transformer also known as potential transformer, I. used with voltmeter, power factors meter, frequency meter II. protect and regulate relays, and no-voltage and over-voltage trips coils of automatic circuit breakers. 6) Earthing Switch Ground disconnect, connect equipment to a grid of electric conductors buried in the earth on the station property. 7) Surge Arrestor It provides the necessary path to ground surges, protective device to limit voltage on equipment by discharging or by passing surge current. This is all basics of substation Do let me know if you know something else 🤩 and mention your Engineer friend to add some points 💥 Connect Anoosha shahid for more 💐 #substation #engineer #electrical #learn #grow #career #gridstation #learning #growing #interviews #powerengineering

During my internship at a thermal power plant, I briefly explained the process of electricity generation and transmission: Electricity Generation: The plant generates electricity by burning fuel (usually coal, gas, or oil) to produce steam, which drives a turbine connected to an electrical generator. The mechanical energy from the turbine is converted into electrical energy. Electricity Transmission: Once electricity is generated, it is transmitted through a network of high-voltage power lines. This transmission system includes step-up transformers to increase voltage for long-distance travel, and step-down transformers to lower the voltage for distribution to consumers. Types of Switchgear: Switchgear refers to devices used to control, protect, and isolate electrical equipment. The main types include: 1. Circuit Breakers: Automatically disconnects power during overloads or faults. 2. Disconnectors (Isolators): Manually isolates electrical equipment for maintenance. 3. Fuses: Provides protection by melting and breaking the circuit when excessive current flows. 4. Relays: Senses faults and sends a signal to circuit breakers to trip. 5. Busbars: Conducts electricity within a switchgear assembly for distribution. These switchgear components ensure safe operation and protection of the power grid. #UPRVUNL

Yesterday was a special day for me. We conducted an electrician meet for one of our channel partners, Triveni Agencies, at their showroom. The room was filled with electricians who, in many ways, know far more about the technicalities of switches and currents than we do. Yet, there I was, giving a presentation of Schneider Electric's Wiser solutions. The beauty of Sales & Marketing lies in moments like these - connecting with people, learning from them, and still having something to offer. It’s not about who knows more, but about building relationships, sharing knowledge, and creating opportunities. In this field, every day is an adventure. Whether it’s working with channel partners, customers, or industry experts - it’s never just about selling a product. It’s about understanding challenges and providing solutions. And well, when the numbers start flowing in? There’s truly no better feeling in the world! It’s a validation of all the effort, strategy, and personal connections you’ve built along the way. (Equally nerve-racking when the numbers dip, though! 😅) Yesterday reaffirmed what I’ve always known: I love my job. Sales & Marketing isn’t just a profession - it’s a passion. It’s where I feel at home, and I wouldn’t trade this journey for anything.

Safety is imperative in the Indian context due to the country’s diverse and densely populated environment, where any lapse in safety standards can have widespread and severe consequences. In India, rapid urbanization, industrial growth, and infrastructural expansion have increased the complexity and scale of electrical installations and other safety-critical systems. Unfortunately, a significant portion of the population still resides in areas with inadequate infrastructure, where safety standards are often compromised. The consequences of neglecting safety in such a context can be catastrophic, leading to frequent electrical accidents, fires, and loss of life. Moreover, the socio-economic impact of accidents, particularly in densely populated areas, can be devastating, affecting livelihoods, health, and community well-being. In India, where diverse climatic conditions, varying levels of infrastructure development, and a wide range of electrical equipment are in use, the consistent implementation of safety standards is crucial. Ensuring safety is not just about preventing accidents but also about fostering trust, promoting sustainable development, and safeguarding the country’s most valuable resource—its people.
