Let's Explore the most asked Question in an interview? Kia Apny kbi grid dekha h? so from now onward your answer must be yes as I am sharing virtual substation that show all its components and animate their functions 🤩 So what is substation? It is the power station which energy transmitted at high voltage from generationg station,by either step-up or step-down the voltage to a value appropriate for local use and provide facilities for switching. Lets Discuss about components of substation ? It includes various components including: 1) Busbar Al or Cu conductors supported on procelain insulators, carry the electric energy from point to point. 2) Disconnector These are used to isooate equipment and are no_load devices. Isolators are mechanical switch that isolate the faulty section of substation. 3) Circuit breaker It is used to interrupt circuits while current is flowing through them. 4) Current Transformer It is connected in series with line which I. measure current when used with ammeter, watt-hour meters, compensator and II. provide protection using protective and regulating relays and trip coil of CB. 5) Voltage Transformer also known as potential transformer, I. used with voltmeter, power factors meter, frequency meter II. protect and regulate relays, and no-voltage and over-voltage trips coils of automatic circuit breakers. 6) Earthing Switch Ground disconnect, connect equipment to a grid of electric conductors buried in the earth on the station property. 7) Surge Arrestor It provides the necessary path to ground surges, protective device to limit voltage on equipment by discharging or by passing surge current. This is all basics of substation Do let me know if you know something else 🤩 and mention your Engineer friend to add some points 💥 Connect Anoosha shahid for more 💐 #substation #engineer #electrical #learn #grow #career #gridstation #learning #growing #interviews #powerengineering
