“It’s a big project. Are we on time? Are we on budget?” “I’m delighted to say: we are both!” Our Joint Managing Director Julia Pyke FEI, HonFNucl spoke on SKY TV about the progress we’re making on site and how we’re delivering growth and economic benefits to the UK. For example Wrightbus, based in Ballymena, Northern Ireland, are manufacturing hydrogen buses to transport the workforce on site. The more big projects like Sizewell C, the more we’re able to bring on people with skills, raise aspirations and increase the number of people actually in the job market. Watch for more 📺➡️

I've shared this quote before and, chances are, I'll have reason to share it again (perhaps not with seasonal gnomes and greenery). This weekend I was part of a team that led a massive #Genesys conversion for a regional energy company. It was a hard-won success that was the culmination of 18 months of work, 10 months of which had occurred prior to me being invited to lead the team. We had missed requirements, budget shortfalls, and timeline slippage -- all the things that we're told to not have but sometimes result from understandable human limitations and that no one has omniscience. We experienced many defeats, which made the final success all the more euphoric and satisfying. But what's important is this: * We learned a lot, which will make every person on this team better. * We had team cohesion, and no one was left behind. * We made it to the end. To me, that makes for a successful project and a great way to end the year. #ProjectManagement #ProgramManagement #HappyNewYear #Rise

The year that changed everything in my career... Over the Christmas break I stumbled across this old photo...here is the backstory.... In late 2016 I was deep in conversation with leadership at Procore Technologies about coming onboard to support their first international expansion (into Australia). While I had many years of construction experience behind me, including being Procore customer #4 in ANZ, the ConTech world was totally new to me. Fast forward to early 2017 and I was over in Carpinteria (California) completing my onboarding at Procore HQ. It was a huge leap of faith. But after years of championing technology from inside the construction industry, I knew this was a way I could help far more people in construction. Three years later - the original team of eight that I started with at Procore Australia had grown to over 120 and I knew I was ready for my next step - and started Knight Solutions. The decision to jump into the ConTech world changed my career and taught me so much along the way. In many ways I had to 'start over' working my way through a totally new industry and building an entirely new set of skills - but so worth it. The one thing that never changed - my love of construction, and my passion to support it with better technology. New year, new beginnings - what is your leap of faith going to be this year?
