Happy Holidays and cheers to an extraordinary 2025 to my friends, business partners, and their loved ones! As 2024 bows out, it’s the perfect moment to reflect on milestones & map out ambitions for the New Year. This year's focus was on GR33NBASE, our Untitled INC venture driving #access to and #capital for #greentech #funds and #ventures. Inspired by the 2023 #COP Dubai, this mission shaped my journey throughout 2024. Among the highlights were key gatherings that set the pulse for #sustainability and #innovation. From #Davos Week around World Economic Forum's annual meeting, the Schmalenbach-Gesellschaft für Betriebswirtschaft e.V. event, SuperReturn and #Superventure Conferences, and the GREENTECH FESTIVAL in Berlin and London, every event added valuable insights & connections. ESMT Berlin’s #Adaptation and #Mitigation #Summit was another standout, as was my second term mentoring at the ReFi Talents program, organized by Environmental Carbon Offset Alliance (ECOTA) and Vanagon with partners like Climate Collective. Operationally, initiating and facilitating a syndicate to invest in bton-group.com certainly was a great achievement. Their mission to #decarbonize the precast concrete industry—responsible for 8% of global CO2 emissions—is nothing short of transformative. I’m excited about the Bton team’s next steps. Similarly, our collaboration with Kumo on #carbon-backed loans has gained traction, and I look forward to advancing this innovative partnership. On the horizon, “#greencompute” emerges as a new topic: leveraging stranded renewable energy by pairing #AI #datacenters with #Bitcoin mining offers a vision of sustainable tech symbiosis. The Gr33nBASE mission - facilitating #profitable #greentech #investments - grows ever more relevant in the fight against greenwashing. #Digitalassets and #tokenization are pivotal to this effort, enabling transparent impact tracking, efficient issuance of financial instruments, and secondary market liquidity. These functionalities make greentech accessible to retail investors. Tokens as incentive machines are another aspect with immense potential. Encouraging regulatory signals for #digital #assets in major capital markets fuel my optimism: We can bridge the $270 trillion funding gap for the green transformation within the next three decades. Let’s not forget: over decades and centuries, humanity has achieved remarkable progress in #poverty #reduction, #education, and #health. But our #planet and #natural #ecosystems have paid a price. It’s time to reverse that trend. By leveraging #technology we can #restore and #preserve our planet. The prospect of #relocating #polluting #industries #off-#Earth is no longer science fiction. “The best way to predict the future is to build it.” With this mindset, I’m excited to drive forward initiatives in 2025. Green Society is a social innovation project of Hyundai Motor's Chung Mong-koo Foundation that fosters entrepreneurial researchers in the climate tech field and supports commercialization challenges such as start-ups to cope with global climate change. The foundation signed an agreement with the National Science and Technology Research Association and the National Green Technology Research Institute in May last year, announced the Green Society Initiative (support for fostering and commercializing K-climate tech talent) in November of the same year, and selected nine teams of world-class climate tech researchers to carry out the project in earnest. The world-class K-climate tech unicorn is likely to come out soon. ^^

The NetPromoterScore of 9.5/10 shows high satisfaction with the program. Until today, those teams have raised €149M external capital (grants + equity) and have a post money valuation of €320M. Most recent rounds were those by Greenlyte Carbon Technologies (pre series A; €10.5M) Southern Lights (seed, €1.6M) and Atmen (seed, €1.3M). ⚙ 𝐕𝐚𝐥𝐮𝐞 𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐢𝐧 & 𝐭𝐞𝐜𝐡𝐧𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐠𝐲: Most teams are focused on technologies related to H2 production (e.g. catalysts, materials & coatings, assembly processes or stack production), addressing technology bottlenecks to reduce LCOH and hence reduce the green premium on hydrogen. 🔗 In addition, industrial tech, storage or digital solutions are often downstream enablers of H2 production, e.g. by facilitating carbon intensity certification of H2 like Atmen or cheaper storage & distribution of H2 where heat and steam are available, like AMBARtec AG.   💚𝐆𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐧 𝐌𝐨𝐥𝐞𝐜𝐮𝐥𝐞𝐬: we define them as derivatives of hydrogen; many of these molecules are essential to either decarbonise hard-to-abate sectors, e.g. ammonia, methanol or SAF; or to serve as an energy vector (e.g. eMethane) to overcome the "unbearable lightness of hydrogen", as Michael Liebreich put it.   🗝𝐔𝐧𝐥𝐨𝐜𝐤 𝐢𝐧𝐧𝐨𝐯𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧: In the SPRINT, we offer corporates the opportunity to nominate industry mentors working with the teams, to gain first-hand-insights about next generation H2-technology, meet the people behind it and support with their expertise on large-scale operations and coporate needs.   🤝 𝐖𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐭𝐨 𝐜𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐛𝐫𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐮𝐫𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐛𝐨𝐨𝐬𝐭 𝐜𝐨𝐫𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐢𝐧𝐧𝐨𝐯𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧?
