Impact-creating entrepreneurs, especially those within underserved communities, face high barriers to social and financial capital. ESOs like Catalyst Labs have emerged as important players in startups’ stories, helping knock down barriers and support their growth. Their support is anything but traditional. Beyond access to capital, ESOs are shifting entrepreneurial ecosystems by prioritizing founder well-being and nurturing strong communities — exactly the types of villages Shondra Washington references. Our newest blog illustrates how Catalyst Labs, Cinematica Labs, and Zane Access® are leading this shift, creating a ripple effect toward greater support and sustainability. https://lnkd.in/gAd9Hq4g

Feeling incredibly proud and grateful as I reflect on the past three years at Village Capital, working alongside Marta Zaccagnini and Zarina Gabdolova in partnership with Visa Foundation to support female founders in green tech. We had the chance to work with 200 inspiring startups across 25 countries in Europe and deployed $800K in catalytic, non-dilutive capital to help them grow. But more than the numbers, what’s stayed with me is the passion, resilience, and brilliance of the women leading these companies—women who are building some of the most innovative, impactful solutions in sustainability today. If you’re curious about the incredible work these startups are doing, and what we’ve learned about the evolving investment landscape in Europe, take a look: https://lnkd.in/ebz9bFSN

We’re in London this week with our partner Zuora, and the Sustainability Subscribed Europe 2025 cohort! This investment-readiness program supports climate startups leveraging usage-based and dynamic pricing models to make sustainable solutions more accessible across Europe. Over the past months, these founders have received tailored training, mentorship, and support to refine their business models and scale their impact. Now, we’ve gathered in person for a culminating summit – a few days of learning, collaboration, and networking with mentors, investors, and the Zuora team. The highlight? Peer-selection of two startups, chosen by their fellow founders as the most investor-ready, each will receive a USD 20K non-dilutive grant to accelerate their solutions. We can’t wait to see how these startups continue to grow and drive climate impact. Stay tuned to find out who they are! #SustainabilitySubscribed

How can we finance climate solutions more effectively? Traditional VC models don’t always align with the realities of climate startups, especially those with longer growth curves, as they prioritize systemic change and measurable impact. Purpose-suited capital offers a new approach: flexible, patient financing tailored to the needs of climate entrepreneurs. Attending #DCClimateWeek? We’d love to invite you to an important conversation on rethinking how we fund climate innovation. Kelly Bryan, U.S. Regional Director at Village Capital, will join a panel of experts to explore how investors can redesign capital structures to better support climate solutions and the entrepreneurs driving them. Panelists Include: Daniel J. Barker, President & CEO, Halcyon Erin Davis, COO & Co-Founder, Enduring Planet Jay Lurie, Head of Capital Markets, Odyssey Energy Solutions We'll discuss: ⚡ Expanding funding access for diverse climate entrepreneurs ⚡ Aligning investment terms with climate innovation timelines ⚡ Why patient capital is key to scaling impact Join us on Wednesday, April 30, 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM EDT Venue: Halcyon - Georgetown, DC Register here: https://lu.ma/yxvvut48

Vote for our #SOCAPOpen session: https://lnkd.in/gC2dp9er 🗳️ Over the last few years I've had many conversations with the incredible Allie Burns of Village Capital and Jamil Wyne of Riffle Ventures Village Capital about how we need to think differently about financing the next wave of climatetech to make sure we're creating funding pathways for the solutions we need and not force fitting businesses into the image of the financial instruments that we've become accustomed to. I'm excited to engage the broader community in this discussion at SOCAP Global later this year during our session: "Reshaping Funding for Climate Innovation," which asks: How can we unlock the right kind of capital for climate startups in emerging markets? Help us take this critical conversation to the main stage at #SOCAP25 by voting and spreading the word before April 13th. Halcyon

🌱 From personal challenge to global impact 🌱 When biologist Adriana Luna Diaz struggled to find accessible, affordable produce in her community that wasn’t grown with toxic fertilizers, she transformed her experience into an impactful solution. She co-founded Tierra de Monte, a startup that develops biological treatments to increase crop productivity, protect biodiversity, and regenerate soil – transforming food systems and livelihoods across Latin America. We’re committed to supporting more founders like Adriana — but we need your help. 💡 Join us in fueling the next generation of impact-creating startups.
