Today I was reflecting on my experience as an Innovation Manager in the clean energy space. Here are 5 key lessons I've learned (There is a story behind each of them): Disclaimer: Remember, remaining flexible and adaptable is key to success in competitive environments. 1️⃣ Do your homework 📚 Understand how the technology fits the current business model, how it makes it better, and how we create value that resonates with the customers. 2️⃣ Craft nearly complete proposals for clients (Do your clients' homework). 🎨 Make it easy for them to say yes and feel ownership. 3️⃣ Be specific when asking for help 🎯 Many will offer help, but not all can deliver. Be clear and specific to avoid wasting your 'bullets'. 4️⃣ Network relentlessly! 🤝 We cannot know with certainty when we will strike gold with a partner, customer, or project. 5️⃣ Be selective, but keep doors open. 🚪 Innovation is like fruit - sometimes you need to wait for it to ripen. This doesn't mean sit on your hands and wait. Effective and smart prioritization leads to success. And a final thought: being lucky doesn't hurt! 🍀 As an Innovation Manager my goal was to advance clean energy through demonstrations, pilots, and deployment of new technologies. #CleanEnergy #Innovation #TechDeployment #BusinessStrategy #EnergyInnovation #Renewables #Power Disclaimer 2: I used ClaudeAi to polish this post...

A strong team needs more than just expertise. In the development of renewable energy, it is crucial to create a collaborative and interdisciplinary working environment. Why is that? Because the greatest innovations occur where different disciplines come together and develop synergies. A team that shares ideas and integrates different perspectives can solve complex challenges much more effectively than isolated experts. Close collaboration between engineers, data scientists and project managers leads to creative solutions that are often unattainable in a fragmented way of working. Similar projects that rely on siloed working methods often miss the opportunity to think outside the box. This slows innovation and leads to inefficient processes. A collaborative environment not only maximises the strengths of each individual, but also provides new impetus for ground-breaking developments in the industry. Collaboration is the key to the future of renewable energy. #TeamCollaboration #RenewableEnergy #Innovation #Interdisciplinary #WorkplaceSynergy #4cast

Sustainable Energy Consumption in the Industrial Sector For those concerned about our planet, how do we find energy solutions that make financial sense and provide stability; while still meeting our environmental goals? There are many challenges faced when trusting an alternative energy mix in the #industrial sector. We all have war stories about production lines stopping and the disruption to our #SupplyChain #Manufacturing #Logistics and other operational areas, but has the time come to start considering viable options? Industrial Energy Resources: Understanding power consumption can be challenging, but selecting the right energy management systems facilitates a shift toward a more sustainable energy mix. The question then becomes; how do we avoid peak loads by balancing consumption using intelligent production systems that incorporate energy dashboards and AI to predict different scenarios and mitigate risk? Providing options to decrease the dependence on the energy grid, while doing that in a sustainable way. An intelligent combination of generation, storage solutions, and energy management systems are culminating to create a more sustainable energy mix for industrial organisations. Economic intelligence: Data analytics and energy management enable energy cost optimisation thanks to increasingly transparent consumption patterns and new opportunities to control generation and demand. In addition, participation in the electricity market provides the opportunity to generate revenue by selling excess power or participating in energy reserve markets. Supply intelligence: New ways of looking at production are emerging while creating new revenue streams by implementing sustainable models. Distributed energy solutions provide a reliable and resilient energy supply, both in independent operation and connected to the public power grid. Power quality for sensitive processes can be maintained consistently, loads can be balanced efficiently, and power fluctuations caused by intermittent renewable generation can be cushioned.

What if I told you that the future of transportation could be powered by renewable energy, thanks to synthetic fuels? E-fuels are not just a concept; they are becoming a reality, especially for sectors like aviation and shipping. But here's the catch: scaling up production isn't just about technology. It’s about the people behind the tech. We need a workforce equipped with specialized skills in electrolysis, carbon capture, and fuel synthesis. As the President of PermanTech, I’ve seen firsthand how critical talent is in driving innovation. The vehicle manufacturing industry is on the brink of a revolution, and we must invest in the right people to make it happen. Consider this: the global push for sustainability is creating a massive demand for skilled professionals. Companies that prioritize hiring talent in these emerging fields will not only stay ahead of the curve but also contribute to a greener future. I remember a conversation with a client who was struggling to find engineers with experience in e-fuels. They had the vision but lacked the team to execute it. By focusing on targeted recruitment strategies, we were able to connect them with the right candidates, and now they're leading the charge in sustainable transportation. So, what can you do? Start looking beyond traditional qualifications. Embrace the potential of candidates who may not have conventional backgrounds but possess the passion and adaptability to thrive in this new landscape. Let’s discuss! What strategies have you found effective in attracting talent for innovative projects? Share your thoughts in the comments. If you found this post insightful, please give it a like and consider reposting it to spread the word.
