The CBCE 2024 - Cremation & Burial Communication & Education event kicked off at Winter Gardens in Blackpool, UK 🇬🇧. One of the most important events for the cremation industry. The event runs until Wednesday, June 26, 2024. 🪦⚱️ The burial and cremation sector faces a time of considerable structural and operational change. With the work of the Law Commission looking at the law surrounding the disposal of the dead, the review of the Process Guidance notes for crematoria, the ongoing monitoring of the funeral sector by the CMA, a significant increase in direct cremations, the ongoing development of new means of disposal and the ever increasing to address environmental issues. These issues alone mean that the sector needs to be prepared to deal with new and demanding challenges. 🪦⚱️CBCE 2024 brings together experts and keynote speakers to discuss some of the significant developments that the sector will have to tackle. This key annual event provides a unique opportunity to acquire the most up-to-date information, as well as provide you with the opportunity to meet with exhibitors to discuss their latest services and products. #CBCE2024 #CremationIndustry #FuneralSector #EnvironmentalConcerns #NewTechnologies #UK #expo #fair #funeralfair #funeralexpo #cremation #fiatifta #funeralindustry #funeralcompanies #fiatiftafuneral #funeralorganization #experience #knowledge #innovations #opportunities #funeralbusiness #funeralinnovations #networking #education

We are excited to reveal the logo and theme for the aes25 International Evaluation Conference: "Beyond the Bubble". Taking place from 15–19 September 2025 in Canberra, on Ngunnawal & Ngambri Country, this conference invites us to challenge our boundaries and expand our perspectives. Logo design by Cause/Affect. "The concept reflects the idea of thinking “beyond the bubble” and outside of what we know to connect to new ideas, knowledge, people, place and ways of doing. Opening our perspective up, is to open up the opportunity for greater positive impact and connection. The design subtly features an eye shape to reflect the idea of thinking outside of your own perspective, but also the bubble. The layers show the outward progression of reaching outside to our closer network of people, places and knowing, then more broadly to a deeper and wider connection, and finally that impact it has on Country and greater networks of community and connection. You also cannot reach the outside layer without first starting locally and building it from there. " #aes25CBR #evaluation #evaluationlearning

The Center for International Trade Expositions and Missions (CITEM) is reaping the rewards for continuously fulfilling its mandated role toward national development – taking home three awards at the recent Governance Commission for GOCCs (GCG) Awards held at the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC) on November 25, 2024. CITEM’s undertakings for the past year merited one of three Most Improved GOCCs and a top-ranking GOCC recognition. The agency also received an award for upholding sustainability values and practices with its Sustainability Solutions Exchange Program. SSX was launched in March 2022 and is CITEM’s way of creating an accessible avenue for Philippine companies exploring sustainable options for their manufacturing, product offerings, and services toward increased productivity, efficiency, and potentials for market optimization. As the lead export promotion arm of the Department of Trade and Industry, CITEM’s ability to perform its public duties efficiently rests highly on its organizational strengths that are anchored on solid operational systems in place – readily accountable and in congruence with global standards and practices. This is a really great report with some very useful insights, immediately implementable tools and methodologies to help local authorities tackle the current travel to school budget crisis which now accounts to £2bn a year.

When the business model and new constitution are again up for discussion, please all members read the information carefully, and consider what it means to our industry going forward. How you as a member want PLA to work for you as an individual or a corporation. To do this we need your consensus or we go nowhere. So read Consider Decide And vote!
Brisbane truly shone this week for the Parks and Leisure Australia 2024 National Conference! ☀️ From the moment we gathered on opening night, through insightful presentations, an inspiring pep-talk from Steven Bradbury, and an unforgettable Awards of Excellence, it was clear this gathering would be something special. And indeed, it was—a time to connect, reflect, and protect the future of our organisation. On Tuesday, members united to address a significant motion at the Extraordinary General Meeting (EGM). The proposed change to federate—a move not aligned with the direction and preference of most of the country—was carefully considered. With 69.6% of valid votes opposing the motion, members sent a resounding message: our strength lies in unity. I’m incredibly proud of the passion and commitment you all demonstrated. Together, we stood tall and affirmed the values that bind us as an organisation and sector. At the Annual General Meeting (AGM), we moved forward by considering the new Official PLA Constitution. With 73.5% of valid votes in favour, we came just 1.5% short of the 75% required for constitutional change. While many proxy votes couldn't be counted due to late submission, they would have likely filled the small gap and further shown our members' desire for progress. Rest assured, we will re-table the official constitution at a future date—without disruptions—and continue driving PLA’s growth and future direction. Thank you to everyone who took the time to vote and support our vision. Your engagement makes all the difference, and it's true what they say: every vote counts.
