IRELAND'S NATIONAL STRATEGIC FRAMEWORK AND ACTION PLAN FOR LIFELONG GUIDANCE In December 23 the Irish Government published it's National Strategic Framework for Lifelong Guidance (2024-2030). The aim of the framework along with the accompanying Strategic Action Plan is to bring focus and coherence to existing guidance services. Research says, ‘Access to quality (ECEC) remains uneven, with children in disadvantaged areas, less likely to receive the quality that we know makes a difference.’ This is a crucial finding. The challenges in disadvantaged areas Ive seen often extend into the ECEC services themselves. PPMI is currently conducting the Interim Evaluation of the EEA (2021-2030), covering the period 2021-2024, to assess its progress in the implementation and development. This evaluation, commissioned by the Directorate-General for Education, Youth, Sport and Culture (DG EAC), aims to gather insights on the relevance, effectiveness, efficiency, coherence, and EU added value of the EEA.
