January 15: Honoring Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and Advancing Health Equity Today, we celebrate the birthday of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., a leader who tirelessly championed justice and equality. He once said, “Of all the forms of inequality, injustice in health is the most shocking and the most inhuman because it often results in physical death.” These words remind us that health equity isn’t just a goal—it’s a moral imperative rooted in justice. What is Health Equity? Health Equity means ensuring every individual has a fair and just opportunity to be as healthy as possible. Achieving it requires addressing systemic barriers like poverty, discrimination, and access to quality education, housing, and healthcare. How can we improve health equity? • Community Outreach: Partner with underserved communities to address their specific needs. • Access to Care: Expand telehealth and transportation services for rural and marginalized populations. • Cultural Competence: Train providers to deliver care that respects diverse backgrounds and experiences. • Policy Reform: Advocate for legislation that reduces healthcare disparities and prioritizes vulnerable populations. Efficient processes pave the way to equity: Efficient billing and operational workflows may not grab headlines, but their impact is transformative: 1. Cost Transparency: Clear, accurate billing allows patients to understand and plan for their healthcare expenses. 2. Accessibility: Streamlined processes reduce administrative hurdles, ensuring patients get the care they need without delays. 3. Affordability: Preventing overbilling or errors helps eliminate financial barriers that disproportionately affect marginalized groups. 4. Provider Focus: Less administrative burden means providers can dedicate more time to delivering equitable, compassionate care. Dr. King’s legacy reminds us to build systems that uplift everyone, especially the most vulnerable. As we reflect on his vision, let’s take actionable steps—whether through better policies, technology, or processes—to ensure no one is left behind in their pursuit of health and well-being. What actionable steps are you or your organization taking to drive health equity? Let’s keep the conversation going. #HealthEquity #MLKDay #JusticeInHealthcare #HealthcareInnovation #EfficientHealthcare #MedicalBilling #SocialImpact #DiversityInHealthcare #Inclusion #CommunityHealth #ValueBasedCare #EquityMatters #HealthcareTransformation

Collaborating with people in your industry is what moves the needle to change and elevate industry. It also requires each of us to step into our purpose, connect human to human through story telling, exercising thought leadership and being strategic in approach in order to light the way. James Lee and Nicole Will have a huge vision shared by many people in long term care and the last few days have been truly inspiring and empowering. Nathan Jones' work through Dash Media has captured my attention and he's done a magnificent job of capturing our moments together here in Austin! #thinktank2024 #seniorcare #seniorliving #illuminatingseniorliving #inspiredcaring

In the pursuit of true wellness, we often forget that business and healing transcend the physical realm. It’s about fostering genuine human connections, building trust, and forming partnerships that uplift and inspire, something I discovered during my visit to #NewYorkCity this past October. Meeting Celeste Mittman, Head of Partnerships at Veriheal, was a standout moment. Celeste took time out of her busy schedule to meet me in #Manhattan, demonstrating that true partnerships are built on Trust, Respect, and a shared Vision. Her passion for cannabis 🌱 and her dedication to helping patients gain safe, legal access to their medicine are truly inspiring. Wellness is a deeply personal journey. For many, including myself, the path to true well-being lies in the power of plant-based medication. This is where Veriheal becomes indispensable. Their intuitive, on-demand platform revolutionizes access to medical marijuana consultations with licensed doctors, offering a seamless, risk-free experience. You can pre-qualify in minutes; if not approved, you get your money back. Veriheal and Platinum915 are united in our mission to empower individuals to take control of their wellness—Mind, Body, and Spirit—transforming lives with compassion and innovation. When you see me holding up three fingers in our photo, it symbolizes the harmony between Mind, Body, and Spirit, capturing the essence of our partnership. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. once said, “Life’s most persistent and urgent question is, ‘What are you doing for others?’” This principle drives our partnership with Veriheal. By embracing Servant Leadership, we are committed to serving others and building a community of mutual support and empowerment. In a time when true ❤️🩹 healing is needed more than ever, Dr. King’s vision of Equality, Justice, and Service continues to drive our collaboration. Our partnership is about more than business; it’s about bettering lives, and we are honored to share it with you! #MLKDay #ForbesBLK #ForbesImpactLab #Veriheal #Empathy #Compassion #Equality

Im not entirely sure how to post about what I learnt at SXSW Sydney this year. Its been.. a bit wild. Admitedly my headspace was a little full with cult conversations, with DECULT 2024 this weekend and a Govt Redress Round Table I attended on Wednesday. This has meant I've taken something completely different away to what I anticipated. 1. There were kids, babies, pregnant people everywhere. The prior SXSW's I've attended in Austin, I was the only one I ever saw visably pregnant. And I saw exactly ONE other parent with a child one year. It felt awful, tbh. We got rejected from a venue once in Austin at lunchtime, for having a baby with us. I was overjoyed to see all the little ones at SXSW Sydney. Here for this change. 2. There were product led, commerciality-first social enterprises on the agenda. That sh*t matters to me, because I truly believe that profit, purpose, climate, people can all co-exist. More of these next year please SXSW Sydney See you next year, where Im hopeful of more Rashina Hoda and a few less white-tech-bros/gals. (Shout out to Social Enterprise Australia for facilitating my #GoKindly team to attend with me, and to the social enterprise group chat for sustaining my enthusiasm when genuine intersectional inclusion & diversity felt a bit hard to find at times.) #sxsw #sxswsydney #socialenterprise
