Before 2017, the fastest speed on a public road was an astonishing 433 km/h (268 mph), set by the Mercedes-Benz W125 Rekordwagen in 1938. This record, which stood unchallenged for nearly 80 years, was achieved under specific conditions and wasn't set in the typical sense of modern speed records, which are usually highly regulated. In 2017, the Koenigsegg Agera RS shattered this long-standing record by achieving an average speed of 447.19 km/h (277.87 mph) on a public road in Nevada. This remarkable feat was meticulously verified, marking a new era in automotive speed achievements and highlighting the Agera RS's advanced engineering and performance capabilities. #SpeedRecord #KoenigseggAgeraRS #AutomotiveHistory #FastestCar #PublicRoadRecord #MercedesBenzW125 #EngineeringMarvel

Evolution is not just a force in the animal kingdom. It takes place in the automotive world, too. Just look at the Porsche 911, whose basic design and layout has been continually refined for more than 60 years. The next stage of its evolution affects the 2025 Carrera S Coupe and Cabriolet models, which receive additional power and standard features. https://lnkd.in/gp9pfu2p

DESIGN IS EVERYWHERE WE LOOK. Dr. Ralf Speth is a German engineer and business executive. He is best known as the former CEO of Jaguar Land Rover (JLR), a position he held from 2010 to 2020. Speth was instrumental in transforming JLR into a globally recognized luxury automotive brand during his tenure. His famous quote, "If you think good design is expensive, you should look at the cost of bad design," reflects the value he placed on high-quality design as a driver of business success and innovation in the automotive industry. The value of great quality design affects more than the automotive industry.

Star® readers, As a Mercedes-Benz enthusiast, I find myself deeply reflecting on a solemn moment for the entire Mercedes-Benz community: the passing of Bruno Sacco. Without Bruno Sacco’s visionary talent and contributions to design, it is safe to say that the trajectory of the Mercedes-Benz marque would not be the same. The task of quantifying Sacco’s life in just a few pages of text and images was quite difficult. I would like to thank Alfredo Stola, of Stola S.p.A. @studiotorino on behalf of the entire Mercedes-Benz Club of America for sharing his personal experiences with Mr. Sacco. Our goal with this piece was not only to pay tribute, but to share with the world a unique perspective that described Mr. Sacco’s character and manner. In this issue, we reflect on several incredible events such as Legends of the Autobahn at Monterey Car Week, Mercedes Grande, The Bridge VIII, and Star Summit with @dcmotorwerks @edbolian @atlantawatchsociety @gentilogio . I had the opportunity to have a conversation with James May @jamesmaybloke of Top Gear and The Grand Tour (and now @jamesmaygin) - a childhood icon of mine, to say the least. Our technical articles aim to educate readers on the OVP Relay via @pierre_hedary_co - a familiar term if you drive a mid-80s M117 powered W 126 or R 107. We hope to de-stigma-tize and encourage you to maintain your ABC-equipped W 220 or C 215 one of the engineering marvels that define early 2000s Mercedes-Benz written by Gary Edwards of @mbcapeachtree . We also have a W220 buyer’s guide, and a W460 buyer’s guide written by @strictly.mercedes. As well, this issue has a new and more in depth market report written by @bpeverest of @thembmarket. You may notice a slightly different design and type in this issue. This was an intentional decision to refine the user experience while reading text. Without further ado, please enjoy your November/December issue of The Star®! #TheStarMagazine #BrunoSacco #W220 #W460 #GWagen #SClass #JamesMay
