We, as IP attorneys, always have a topic to discuss, and yesterday it was quite useful and practical to review new Classification updates together with IP Office representative on our #askNAPA webinar. I' m sure, that new terms of Nice Classification are in some sense a "mirror" of our nowadays reality. And as a proof - here are some examples: we have new term " cruise missiles " added to class 13 as a good; at the same time new service –“ rental of sunglasses for fashion purposes, other than for vision correction” is added to class 45 (by the way, “rental of sunglasses for vision correction” belongs to class 44) – different aspects of today’s reality, we live in… How about you, do you usually notice modifications in Nice Classification? 🏆 AMAZING TESTIMENTS OF CLUSTERS 🏆 Dive into the great recap film of the 27th TCI Network Global Conference taking place in the city of Chihuahua, Mexico, sharing the intense week and key highlights 🇲🇽 Truly a complete and perfect conference with top level speakers, engaging program, motived cluster people all around and so many fun and nice moments. The hosts did an outstanding job in planing and executing the conference 🚀 For me personally the conference was also very special. After serving as 6 years as President for TCI Network, this conference was a a very special one for me. Honestly I couldn't haven't asked for a nicer, stronger or better ending of this part of my TCI journey. Thanks 🙏 Chihuahua you were second to none. Some key takeaways: ✨ Leadership is key: Still after 20 years of working in clusters, it was very touching for me to see the strong local and very motivated engagement in clusters. For the first time I had a session with cluster chairs discussing the importance of the strong private leadership. And we talked how TCI Network better could support the cluster boards and bring in global best practise. ✨ History matters: A very special session was a commemorative session with founders of TCI Network coming in from around the world. 28 years ago the idea behind TCI Network was born in Chihuahua and now we could meet to celebrate the history - and looking into the future of our dear global network. It was very touching to feel the dedication, longstanding engagement and the great reflections on where we're going. ✨ Clusters as tools: Clustering is a core concept for tackling societal challenges and empowering companies to be better prepared. During the conference we reflected on the role of clusters in a mission oriented economy with a great key note from Mariana Mazzucato. While Rebeca Eun Young Hwang underlined that clusters play a key role to support members on the AI journey. And I will keep on thinking about "I'm a replaceable in the age of AI?". A huge thanks to all for bringning this together - but without the one and only Luis Oliver Torres this would not have happened. A longstanding and dedicated friend and colleague pushing, shaping and raising the bar for cluster development and for TCI Network. Our DNA is all about continous learning, openness to learn, and sharing successes and failures. In Chihuahua we took a giant leap 🏹
