💻 Why do you think recruiters prefer an email instead of an application? 🤔 #RecruitingWoes 🔒 Are there privacy concerns about sharing your resume with a random recruiter? For me, there definitely are! 🧐 I mean, who knows where my precious info is going? 🕵️♀️ #PrivacyMatters 📂 Don't companies value having a proper system to showcase all the juicy details to candidates? 🤷♂️ #SystemFailure 📞 Maybe it's a sneaky sales tactic to get you on the phone... But I'm not falling for that trap without more info! 🚫 I'm not calling you back just because you dangled a "😱 SUPER EXCITING REMOTE OPPORTUNITY 💻" in front of me, only to follow up with "I need a talented SOAR Engineer" and nothing else. 🙄 #SalesyTactics 🤩 Am I supposed to be excited about that? Especially when "talented" usually means they want to pay peanuts while expecting me to be a coding ninja? 🥷 No, thank you! #LowPayHighExpectations 🗣️ So, what do you think about this recruitment madness? Let's discuss and maybe come up with some solutions to make the process better for everyone! 🙌 #FixTheSystem #RecruitingRant #EmojisForDays #CollabNotRant

I talked to another job seeker in the executive IT space today who applied for over 300 roles without a single interview. The pattern is the same: most of the roles were Remote, and the majority were "one-click" or "easy apply" positions. There is nothing easy about searching for a job. That should be a clue. I recommended to him what I tell everyone on LinkedIn and in my coaching: limit your applications to remote jobs and send your resume to the Hiring Manager directly. #newconfig #recruitingtips

Here is the cold, hard truth about finding a job: 80% of jobs come from connections. Only 20% come from cold applications. Yet, most people spend 100% of their time applying online. They send out hundreds of resumes. They tweak their cover letters. They refresh their inbox, hoping for a response. But the truth is, job offers come from people, not portals. → The hiring manager who vouches for you. → The old colleague who refers you. → The industry friend who gives you a tip before a job is even posted. Your next job won’t come from spamming applications. It will come from conversations. Start joining professional groups. Start reaching out to people in your industry. Start building real connections. That’s how you get hired. --- Want to be notified on high-value remote opportunities? Follow https://lnkd.in/guhk2YyC Your network shapes your success. There are over 12 million “Software Engineers” and 300,000+ “Mobile Developers” on LinkedIn. Shouldn’t it be easy to find one and fill your vacancy? I’ve spoken to 50+ Founders and Hiring Managers who use a three-step strategy to build and grow their tech teams: 1️⃣ Write a job advert and publish it across different job boards. 2️⃣ Run a LinkedIn Boolean search and message the top 50. 3️⃣ Wait 1-2 weeks and then interview the best 10 resumes. I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but I spoke to most of these Founders and Hiring Managers because **their strategy failed. 💡 Many of the best developers aren’t actively job-seeking or scrolling job boards. 💡 Boolean search results depend largely on LinkedIn profile quality. Many of the best developers I know don’t have enough keywords on their profile and are rarely active, so won’t appear in your top 50. 💡 And many don’t have a LinkedIn profile at all. Instead, they’re using other platforms and online communities. To source top developers, you really have to play the long game. You could hire an internal recruiter solely dedicated to building and nurturing developer relationships (which could be costly unless you’re consistently hiring). Or, you could partner with an external recruiter who has long-standing relationships and can introduce you to some of the best developers in the industry relatively quickly. Whichever route you take, hiring developers is no easy feat, even if search results suggest otherwise. Give yourself plenty of time, and don’t be afraid to lean on an expert for support. #Hiring #MobileDevelopers #SoftwareDevelopers #Recruiting

Every now and then I get messages from people asking me: where do I find good software engineering jobs? Well, there are a few options... Linkedin jobs, sites like wellfound . com or remote .co and these are great sources! But what if you could have access to lots of engineering jobs here in your LinkedIn feed? Sounds amazing, right? That's what I get every day after I learned how to approach the job searching at a more personal level. At the end of the day, you will connect, talk and get hired by people. Yes, people! Follow and/or connect to recruiters. Hiring managers. Head of People... depending on the company size, their role name will change. Why is that? Well, they post job vacancies. That's their job! Not only that, they interact with their peers who are also looking to hire. You don't have to believe in me. Try it for yourself. Follow a few recruiters over the next days and see job postings showing up at your feed!

Resume builders receive a godlike amount of search traffic, over 100 million searches per month worldwide. I have several successful customers in this space, it's a massive business. It's also a huge problem as hiring managers are getting 1,000s of AI-generated slop resumes for each job listing. Make that 10,000s if it's a remote job... Hard location/skill/experience requirements in the description make no difference. I suspect that the traditional job listing & application process will change a lot in the next couple of years, but it's difficult to predict in which direction. I know some companies that require a loom + assessment to even get an interview, but obviously that's not going to work for everyone. Verification of identity and skills will surely be huge though (already is). Looking forward to seeing some exciting startups being built in this space!
