The demolition of the former U-boat Story Museum building at Woodside Ferry Approach will mark the first step towards Big Heritage CIC's creation of a brand-new Battle of the Atlantic visitor attraction on the site, set to open in Spring 2026. Birkenhead-based Technical Demolition Services has been appointed to oversee the works which will include the removal of the 1970s link-span tunnel at Woodside Ferry, which is being replaced as part of major new reinvestment at the site. Museum spaces have always attracted people with the opportunity to take beautiful photos. Sometimes it's pictures of the exhibits, and sometimes just a nice selfie on a pretty background. During my time working in a museum, I often encountered visitors who wanted to take intimate photos. Usually museum rules don't deny this type of photo. But it can inconvenience other visitors, especially families with children. What do you think?
