As the director of Cornell’s Center for Alkaline-Based Energy Solutions (CABES), an Energy Frontier Research Center supported by the U.S. Department of Energy, NYSERDA and Empire State Development, Abruña and his collaborators have made progress in developing and deploying highly efficient and environmentally benign energy conversion technologies with emphasis on fuel cells and electrolyzers employing low cost transition metals whose use is enabled by operating at high (alkaline) pH. In addition to his own research, Abruña has partnered with universities in his native Puerto Rico and the Partnerships in Research and Education in Materials (PREM) program to bring underrepresented groups to the Cornell High Energy Synchrotron Source (CHESS) to perform energy related research.

Integrating Printable Solar Panels into Visual Merchandising ✨ 📌 Printable solar panels offer a sustainable and innovative solution for visual merchandising. These flexible, lightweight solar cells can power interactive and illuminated displays, making window displays and in-store setups more engaging and energy-efficient. 📌 Using solar panels in displays highlights a brand’s commitment to sustainability, appealing to eco-conscious consumers. They can be customized to fit various setups and printed on different surfaces like glass, fabric, and plastic. 📌 Ideal for temporary retail spaces like pop-up shops and trade shows, solar panels provide off-grid power solutions, enhancing convenience and sustainability. Seasonal displays can also benefit from this technology, offering easy installation and reuse. 📌 Brands like H&M and Uniqlo use solar-powered displays to showcase their sustainability efforts, creating attractive and eco-friendly setups. Solar-powered digital signage in stores provides real-time information while reducing energy use. In summary, printable solar panels in visual merchandising combine innovation, sustainability, and consumer engagement, creating dynamic and eco-friendly displays that resonate with modern consumers. #Sustainability #VisualMerchandising #SolarPower #Innovation #EcoFriendly #GreenMarketing #RetailTech #SustainableFashion #TechInRetail #CircularEconomy

Check out the latest Science2Go Video from Technische Universität Braunschweig, which highlights the excellent research from Svenja Schreiber here in our lab!
#BatteryLabFactory 🔋 At the iPAT - Institute for Particle Technology (Institut für Partikeltechnik) at #TUBraunschweig, scientist Svenja Schreiber is researching the dry coating of battery electrodes. 🔍 The biggest challenge she currently faces is scaling up the applied process from laboratory scale to industrial application, as the process is still relatively new and many parameters still need to be defined. 💡 “What particularly excites me is that we want to establish a very sustainable process here. By not using solvents, we can save a lot of space, but also a lot of energy in particular, as we no longer have to use solvents. And this can of course reduce CO2 consumption and investment costs,” says the research assistant. 👉 Discover the fascinating world of science with our #Science2Go format with Innovationsgesellschaft Technische Universität Braunschweig mbH (iTUBS) and gain insights into a wide range of research areas at #TUBraunschweig.
