About the Company:
A growing and dynamic food manufacturing company located in the Chicago area, it is dedicated to producing high-quality products with a focus on innovation, efficiency, and excellence. As it continues to expand, it is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Staff Accountant to join its finance team and support key accounting and financial functions.
Position Summary:
The Staff Accountant will maintain accurate accounting records, prepare financial reports, support internal controls, and contribute to the budgeting process. This position will also be key in financial reporting, cost accounting, and project-based financial initiatives. The ideal candidate will have experience in a manufacturing environment and be proficient in ERP systems.
Key Responsibilities:
• Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts and ensure timely and accurate month-end and year-end close processes
• Prepare financial statements and internal reports for management review
• Assist with the development and monitoring of budgets and forecasts
• Support internal controls and compliance with accounting policies and procedures
• Perform cost accounting duties, including inventory analysis, product costing, and variance analysis
• Collaborate with operations and production teams to ensure accurate financial reporting
• Participate in the implementation and improvement of ERP and accounting systems
• Assist with audits and other financial projects as assigned
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• Minimum 3 to 5 years of accounting experience in a manufacturing environment
• Strong understanding of cost accounting principles and financial reporting
• Proficiency with ERP systems
• Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with financial software tools
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to work independently and collaboratively
