About us

The Wisconsin Veterans Network (VetsNet) is a nonprofit organization staffed by veterans and serve veterans. VetsNet bridges a major gap in the veterans benefit system: identifying and connecting at-risk veterans and veterans in need to the benefits and programs they earned through their service to our country. Veterans look to VetsNet for help in a number of areas, including: emergency relief, rehousing, benefits counseling, financial counseling, substance abuse assistance, mental health care, legal assistance, relationship counseling, employment counseling, job training and placement.

Updates

  • Out of the 457 veterans served in 2024, 134 were responsible for 316 children in their families. The two most significant issues we dealt with with those families were housing/homelessness and food insecurity. In addition to the resources connected to the Center for Veterans Issues, County Veteran Service Offices, and others, VetsNet provided funds in direct assistance to temporarily house homeless families and connected families and single veterans with food pantries all over the state. Children matter, too. #monthofthemilitarychild #purpleup

  • A 2.2-mile ruck march/walk (backpacks are optional) will occur on Saturday, April 26, 2025, around the Fondy Soccer Complex adjacent to Moraine Park's Fond du Lac campus. The walk begins in the B-1 parking lot just off Campus Drive, Fond du Lac, WI. Additionally, local mental providers and veteran support organizations will have information available. A free lunch will follow the walk. This event, sponsored by Moraine Park Technical College's Veteran Affinity Group and Marian University, is intended to raise awareness about the high veteran suicide rate and honor those who have lost their lives too soon, currently at 17.2 a day. A backpack is not required to participate, but individuals are encouraged to carry a photo of a service member who died due to suicide. This event is free and open to the public, although donations are appreciated. Proceeds help fund this and future events and assist local veterans organizations so they may continue their mission of serving veterans and raising awareness of veteran suicide.
