Happy Doggo

Not everybody who follows us will know Tina but those who do know just how special she was. A one of a kind ❤️ That hammock shot is Tina with about 30 minutes left to live as her and Niall listened to this song. They were both so happy and even though she was still alive we think after a life of neglect and abuse Tina was already in heaven. For Niall this is more than a book. It’s been 18 months of extreme effort to get her hospital up and running, over 60,000 dogs sterilized since she passed and endless dogs saved. Niall's pretty exhausted with the mental effort that has gone into this. After this book comes out in 20 days and he does about 3 weeks of promotion for it in UK / Ireland and USA he need to take a little rest to think about Tina and how far we’ve come in shaping her legacy to help other dogs 🏥 A pre-order would mean the absolute world. Niall's dream is of getting it to number one in the charts and looking up at her big face in an airport somewhere around the world. He still misses her but he talks to her every day. Kids are the future of saving dogs. If we're to solve the issue of dogs suffering, we need to get the next generation involved and carry on the work we've started 🙌🏽 So when we hear that kids have been discovering Happy Doggo and even helping us spread the word, it makes us SO happy!! This week we got an amazing email from Tina, a Civil, Social and Political Education teacher at Regina Mundi School in Cork. Her class have discovered Happy Doggo through little Marshmallow and as part of their "action project" they chose to raise awareness of us and raise funds ❤️ They designed a flyer, held a presentation on Happy Doggo in front of the school, and even held a raffle raising nearly $700 for the doggos! While the donation is extremely welcome, the best news for us is that these young people are spreading the word about helping dogs and helping educate their peers. Their teacher was kind enough to send us through some pictures and to share their presentation. We think you'll all agree these kids are going to go far!! We often talk about how incredible our community is but we don't always realise *quite* how many people our dogs reach. So when F1 driver Alex Albon, reached out with the offer of helping some of our dogs find a home, we were pretty starstruck ⭐️ And we knew just the pair who needed help the most... Being Thai, Alex understands the struggles street dogs have here. And was more than happy to help find them homes and assist us in spreading the message of being kind to dogs. We've spent 3 months working on this... And "Alba's Kitchen" is finally open! 🥳 We're now able to feed 1250 street dogs, fresh, home-cooked food *every day* from our own kitchen at Happy Doggo Land. What a legacy this little doggo has left 💜 #Dogrescue #Charity #StreetDogs

Paintings by Ernie. Aged 85 from South Derbyshire ❤️ We often talk about how incredible a community we have around our dogs. And nothing shows it better than these drawings and this story... The wonderful Ernie has been painting Happy Doggos for the last while, delving into art after losing his beloved wife, Irene, in 2021. He's done Tina and Butterscotch and has even sent Billy his very own painting all the way to Singapore. Ernie's daughter Susan sent us his art this week and told us that her dad shares the Happy Doggos' stories with the residents at his assisted living centre and their adventures give them all a boost. Little Snickers was a street puppy who we looked after on our feeding rounds on Koh Samui. To show her appreciation for her tasty dinners, she would bring us gifts to say thank you. We were lucky enough to get: 👟 Some trainers 🩴 ONE new flip flop  💦 A lovely water bottle 🌴 So SO many sticks! And much more... Because of her generosity and love for humans, we decided Snickers deserved a forever home and brought her back to our sanctuary to begin the process. While here, we rewarded her kindness by giving her her own presents of toys, balls, friends, love and even a bandana. But, while a sanctuary is great, every dog dreams of their forever home. And this week, Snickers' dream finally came true when her new humans came to pick her up. She's spent the week going on walks, being spoiled rotten and saying goodbye to all of her favourite people. We even gave her one last gift to say thank you for being the best girl ever. Snickers left Happy Doggo Land today as a legend - the most generous dog we've ever met who got the greatest gift ever... her own humans  You did it Snickers.
