Far too many dogs are handed over to us because their owners' housing situation means they can no longer keep them 😔💔 The new Renters’ Rights Bill will make having a dog much easier for people in the private rental sector. We want similar protections for pets and owners in social housing. That’s why this week, we’ve sent a letter to the government, with nearly 19,000 of your signatures. Thank you for helping keep pets and owners together. If you haven’t already, there’s still time to sign! ✉️👉 https://bit.ly/4hrqhSq

Earlier today, it was announced that the Welsh Government is committed to banning greyhound racing 👏 This is a significant step forward for animal welfare. Alongside members of the Cut the Chase coalition - RSPCA Cymru, Blue Cross, Greyhound Rescue Wales and Hope Rescue, we have been campaigning to bring greyhound racing to an end in Wales and across the UK. Since 2018, more than 2,700 greyhounds have died or were put to sleep following their participating in greyhound racing around the UK 💔 We’re pleased the Senedd is ready and willing to take decisive action to prevent further deaths and injuries. Our Chief Executive Owen Sharp says: “The UK joins just four other countries worldwide where this cruel so-called sport still persists. With Wales now committed to ending greyhound racing, it’s time England, Scotland, and Northern Ireland followed suit and put a stop to this inhumane form of entertainment once and for all.”
